I've been wanting to play the MLP version of D&D for a while but can't find enough players.

I didn't even know oubliettes and ogres was an actual thing. D&D has home-brew for everything, though. Are you using regular D&D rules with mlp characters/races/settings?

hehe, I just create characters based on MLP characters. I had a discord wizard, Flim/flam cleric (ironic...), and I also have a pinkie pie warden. Sometimes its just fun to annoy my non-brony friends lol
If you have enough close-by friends who don't mind ponies, you can always play regular D&D. It is a game of imagination after all where anything can happen... and... I do mean anything (faces of terror as I recall previous adventures)

I live with a hardcore christian who claims that D&D is satanic. But apparently an MLP version would fly but he still wouldn't play. I just got one friend who will. I don't even have enough friends on skype to play.

that sounds terrible... I'm not very religious, but I could tell him a table top game is no more satanic than a video game lol. Ya, idk if I could live with a hardcore christian. Religion is all well and good, but once you start telling others what they can and can't do, it becomes a bit much.

oh ya, writing a story is one thing, but a DM also needs to provide players with the freedom to make the story their own while keeping up with rules (to an extent) and still keeping a fun environment for the players.
... that is why my character, Dianne, was impregnated...
... I didn't appreciate that one, but I laugh about it.
As DM, I had every right to say "no that didn't happen" but where is the fun in that? lol
Overall, the story a DM writes is almost irrelevant. While there is usually some end goal, the bulk of the story comes from the way the players interact with the world you create. Heck, even the world is created by the players. They are the ones who decide where to go. A DM creates main scenarios and interactions, but it would be a waste to go through in-depth planning because most of it will get skipped anyway.
