He stole some art work from a copyrighted artists, Christian Lassen I think it was...this theif's gallery was taken down..I've been watching him to make sure he doesn't put anymore up, it's a shame he isn't banned

Technically speaking, doesn’t the "policy" (in which if you are so implying, YES I have read) inhibit true "freedom of speech"?
While I understand perfectly well that the policy is in place for the well being of the artists here on Deviant art, and that all Deviants agree to abide by it's ruling for as long as thier are here, there is not a thing I did that was out of bounds.
a mark for a mark. He posed a snide enough remark on his page, and I rebuked it on his. I have done nothing outside the policy. I did not harass him, I did not 'flame' him.
Again, it is others that you should be having this dispute with, is it not?
And true enough, in time, if they keep up suck a behavior they in turn too will get themselves into trouble. "What goes around comes" around as they say.

however, if you are implying that I am not in bounds of "proper etiquette" (as it is correctly spelled)
because I made the remarks "sick and wrong", "DA is for real artists, not pathetic thief’s.", "I'm glad to see "your art" taken down!" then you are sorely mistaken.

to state that it was 'sick' in the mannerism that I was conveying simply means the very definitions I sent to you: "Defective and unsound, Disgusted, revolted, and Unable to produce a profitable yield of crops"
It is and uncouth to claim what belongs to another as yours. thus it is also wrong.

to state that 'Deviant art is for real artists' implies my upheaval at the fact that he couldn't place on piece of true art in his gallery. he didn't even have the decency to display even one image that he had in fact drawn himself. It implies that he wanted to look good because either a- he does draw but is to ashamed to show his own art, or b-doesn't draw. either way, he did this to become popular, and that is not what art is really about, thus he cannot be called a "true artisan". to state that he was a "pathetic thief" also, again, is in compliance to my appal at his actions. "pathetic" was selected because his efforts were very poorly done. He selected the work of Christian Lassen, a very well renowned artist, and several others for that matter. All of which though looked very 'glitched' or 'scrabbly'. it was all a very poor show.
To call him a thief is no streach of the immagination, as to say that a copyrighted immage is YOURS is fraud and can land you jail time of up to 20 years. He is lucky that 'taking down his gallery' is all that Deviant art did.

Which brings me to my last subject of question, "I'm glad to see "your art" taken down!". This is most likly the 'coldest' of things I said, but by far the most honest. a play on words at his insistance that it was 'his art'. I am infact glad to see that thieft is not tollerated on Deviant art. it gladdens me. It makes me feel safe and lets me know that there is justice still in this power hungry and corrupt world that we call 'reality'.

Do I ask for forgivness?
Yes, in a sense. I do not commonly like to 'be mean' or 'lash out at others'. It's not my hobby. and so my shock and anger at this action resulted in a sharp remark. I had asked "I hope you do not think ill of me for that." becuase harsh words are always unsettling to me.
But am I sorry?
No. I am not sorry that I belive in justice. I am not sorry that I expressed my honest feelings of outrage to a theif. I am not sorry that stealing artwork makes me upset.
I do not regret.

It just seems a little harsh thats all. His art was taken down, all people had to do was report it, but they had to comment on how "you have no soul and you should, um, die" or "Why are you here your fucking jerk face! Get out!!" It makes us look bad and we shouldn't bash and flame like that in the name of art and creativity 'cause it makes them look worse. And it's usually the case where all the deviants with the bad attitudes have the sub-par galleries. Theres a pattern there. My opinion is that we should all think before we speak.

True infact, but when he came to my page boasting "your galleries 'pretty good', you should come check out mine sometime" that's just cheeky arrogance. to steal a famouse artist's art and claim it is your IS wrong. I didn't write anything as harmful as the above, but yes I agree some should be more careful of what they say. however, in this senerio I find myself well enough justified. I hope you do not think ill of me for that.

No I don't think ill of you for that, and I guess people have freedom of speech, but still all of these comments prove that you don't see many people reading the policy. one of my friends here made a rant about someone who stole artwork here, then she got temporarily banned. She asks me "Why did I get banned for doing the right thing!?", the case is that she did the wrong thing, your not allowed to harrass people like that on deviantART. If people read the policy, then all these people wouldn't be commenting like this, they would write to the staff like they should have. Though, if you must say something for yourself, please do so with "proper etiquitte".
