Yeah, I've been stationed here about two years now. It's usually amazing weather though. I almost got orders to Washington, but I'm glad to experience Hawaii at least. Who knows where I might end up next, though!

how exciting though!! i can only imagine how beautiful it would be there, especially during the spring and summer! you're so lucky to have been stationed there.
maybe one day you'll end up here. it isn't too bad, plus the city is gorgeous at night and there's lots to do around here. :) (Smile)

Yeah, it definitely has been exciting. I've spent a majority of my time on deployment or out to sea, but now I'm back for a couple of years, so that's nice. There are some amazing hikes, beaches, and a lot of amazing fresh food.

I'm sure I wouldn't mind it, except during the winter. I'm from Texas, and I've really never known cold. I was pretty upset with the winters in South Carolina and Georgia too, but again, the south.

fortunately our winters aren't TOO bad around here. it does get pretty chilly, but it hardly ever snows since it's usually too wet up north.
if you can handle a little bit of wind (or a lot) with some rain, you'll probably do just fine in seattle. :P (Lick) or tacoma, since that's where you would probably get stationed.

ugh stoppp, you're making me want to visit! i have friends who used to live there and they made it sound so nice. :( (Sad) i hope you're really enjoying yourself!

Yeah, as long as it's not snowy, I think I could survive just fine. Plus, I know the summers are probably awesome up there.

They station us submariners in Bangor, but I really don't know where that is in relation to anything else.

Ha, well, feel free to visit. I think I could be a pretty good tour guide! It's mostly enjoyable to be out here, but it's a different kind of America. Not as strange as Guam, but close.

YESSSS we do have really nice summers! this year was super warm and calm, which is such a relief. it makes the transition into fall a little more beautiful i think- it makes the colors a little brighter. :) (Smile)
i just looked it up and that's about an hour from the city, but it still looks like a nice area. plenty of water! but i suppose that's what you'd need for what you do, lmao.

i might have you take you up on that offer sometime. i'm in desperate need of a vacation.
that means you've also been to guam? so jealous, you've probably been a lot of cool places. where else have you been to?

Probably some great hikes up in your forests and all. I'd love to do that one day. I haven't seen seasons in a long time now. Just sunny or rainy. Hah.

Yeah, I'm always on the coast. I like water quite a bit, so it's a good deal in that respect.

Well, it's a nice place to visit. Just let me know, and I'll give you a hotel hook up.

The last deployment I did we went to Guam, Japan (Yokosuka, near Tokyo, and Sasebo, on the lower west side), and we pulled into Australia in Perth. Funnily enough, I used to live in Perth when I was in college, so it was pretty nice coming back seven years later.

Besides that, I've only been stationed in Charleston, SC and Kings Bay, GA. I lived in Texas for the majority of my life, however. It's still "home" to me. I've also been to Mexico a bunch, but that was just for a booze vacation hah. Yourself?

washington state, new york and pennsylvania are three really great states to get a good taste of the seasons! everything is so rich, especially here in washington.
unfortunately i don't have TOO much time to get out and do stuff like that often so i wouldn't know, but if you're ever around, wenatchee is a good spot for hiking. :) (Smile)

you've been to quite a few different places, omg. what would you say was your favorite? probably perth?
where would you want to (or hope?) to go next?

i've never left the US before, but i have road tripped cross country to visit pennsylvania for a while so i've touched foot along all nothern states. i've also spent few weeks in new york too! nothing too flashy and exciting, but still a lot of fun and great experiences all around.

Well, I've done a little time in NY, but it was NYC and I wasn't very impressed with that place, at all.

I feel you on not getting time. I think I'm usually only here 60% of the time, and every third day I have to spend the night at work and work a full day the next day. But that's just part of the Navy fun...

I've been all over Australia, but only lived in Perth. It was my favorite. Super laid back and secluded. I recommend it to anyone. The people are so nice there!

At least you've traveled a bit. It's amazing to see how different everywhere is versus your home. Gives you a better perspective on things.
