I used your Sagan/Sega pic as a wallpaper for a while  
I've got a lot of complaints about living in Kentucky, but the scenery sure ain't one of them. Seriously, the best part about Kentucky is the varied landscapes. In the northern part of the state you have the Ohio river valley and gently rolling hills, in the middle you have the Bluegrass region with horse farms and flat land, in western ky you have swamps, and in eastern ky you have the Appalachian mountains. 

If you ever visit here's some of my humble recommendations: (I'll pretend I'm a tour guide..)
Mammoth Cave National Park : The largest, most extensive, cave system ON EARTH! 10 million year old caves! 390 million miles have been explored, and more miles are added yearly! It's like visiting an alien planet, with eerie formations, vast chambers of shadow, and crystalline wonders! 

Big Bone Lick State Park : Awesome displays of Megafauna. Huge Mammoth bones! Mastodons! Ancestors of Horses! And meet some Bison!

Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Resort Park : A 29,000-acre wonderland of cliffs, caves, waterfalls, and the largest concentration of sandstone arches east of the Rocky Mountains. Natural Bridge is the largest of the park's arches, taking nearly 65 million years to be carved by the raging waters of the Red River!
