Thank you so much! After a few hours of digging I managed to find some other examples and with this, my research is now complete! I've decided to use 12mm mdf and make it out of 3 pieces. one for the blade and 2 for the handle. Unfortunately due to time and machinery constraints I'm unable to work on it until the end of January.. But at least, thanks to you I now have everything to get started right away when I get the opportunity
