Hey I noticed you got a D3000. Your pictures have the same problem that mine do. They're too dark. You should play around on the camera and adjust the exposure settings to higher...i think they have exposure settings on there...
otherwise, maybe shoot manual and adjust your shutterspeed up by one stop to let in more light. The D3000 has this problem, and I end up post-processing all my photos, which takes hours.
