Hey Dib, just wanted to drop in and let you know I still think about ya! Β Hope everything's going well for you; I'm on the job hunt, so it's been kind of stressful over here, but hopefully that will change soon. Β I've been getting into different metal bands lately (Blind Guardian and Kamelot among them) and have become sort of intrigued by how some of the vocalists are able to bust out thatΒ heavy metal growl thing at will. Β I want to find out how they DO that and maybe learn it...it would be kind of fun (and funny!) to be able to do that when I chose, and I actually know a very talented female growler who gives lessons! Β I want to learn Blind Guardian's "All the King's Horses" and do a cover of that once I find my equipment again. Β (Due to the whole job drama, I had to move back in with my parents and things kinda got lost in the shuffle.) Β I'll let you know if I get around to it and send you a link, I know you like them. Happy New Year, Dib! Β Hope all's going well for you! Β My unofficial ukulele lessons have begun, and I've already learned a few chords. Β I seem to be taking to it OK, I'm finding that the most difficult part is remembering which fingers to use for which strings, but every instrument has its quirks to get used to, and it's kind of fun to be able to use a thing and make actual musical sounds come out of it, you know? Β

Hey it's been awhile..hope you're getting into the swing of things after your holiday season..as for myself, quite a bit has gone on during these past couple of months(most of what I detailed in several journal entries)..enjoying my new home so far and some days can be so hectic that I have yet to get it together completely, to the extent
where my writing has slowed down considerably as there have been days my mind
was on anywhere but that. But it's gradually coming back..and I gave myself a deadline to finish it off before next week Friday (there's a trip I may go on, to another state that'll be my first time visiting, depending on how things go)..did have a good birthday though, surprisingly, and so far 31 feels GREAT.

Hhaha, man oh man every time I try to get back to the way things used to be,
something happens that sets me off course again! Luckily it's not bad, in fact it's
good. I've had a neglected ferret given to me unexpectedly and I wasn't expecting or
prepared for it. But I did end up falling for him.Β So I've devoted a lot of time to him and he is doing well. Plus got back into the
saddle again and taking some rides.
Haven't done a lot of writing myself either. I don't think I have much time for it. Been busy cleaning up
my room ready for winter, doing some DIY and stuff.
So glad you are enjoying your new home. How are the neighbours? Living someplace new
can be altogether exciting and stressful.
And you had a good birthday! Wow 31? Hey hey very nice! I'm 29 so you're only two years older than me!
And between you and me I often feel like the oldest on DA because everyone else still seems to have a school
to go to. So glad there is someone out there who's as mature as me. If I can even be called mature! XD

Oh! well that's real life for ya, I suppose..but I'm happy to know it's a positive thing this time..I mean I know challenges do happen to test us all but depending on what they are it is easy to despair.
Happy to report though I am getting back into the writing frame of mind again and I hope to have the chapter ready by early next month at the latest if not before I go on this mini-trip (that is if things go according to plan) oooh, it's getting pretty cool
where I am, too, though fall has just begun, but I do have some warm stuff and plan to be ready for when winter does roll around.,
The neighbors are pretty nice, I suppose, at least from what I've seen..and don't I know..still job hunting and have yet to actually find work but I'm remaining optimistic that it'll happen..I do hope soon since there are things I'd like to be able to save up for..(will post journals for those when the time is right, like when I know it'll happen for sure, so look out for those)
Yup, I can't believe it either..seems like it was just yesterday when I had just turned the big 3-0 and even in my 20s..I remember 29, that wasn't always a good age for me..trust me, there are people older than both of us here..haha I know what you mean there but as the saying goes, "you're only as old as you feel" and I do feel a bit older than I usually do now..even though I appear much younger to a lot of people in real life ^^

for you! Β I've had some exciting things happen for me the past little while, including starting to learn American Sign Language and having my dad agree to teach me the ukulele! Β (He's familiar with both that and the guitar; he'd play for me when I went to bed when I was little, and I figure it's time to take up one of the family instruments while he's still around to show me the strings, you know?)

That's interesting to learn I bet, performing signs is actually, in my point of view, useful and therapeutic.
Doing things with your hands to me is very smart and interesting.
Man I was useless at learning musical instruments! I was gonna use the violin, then got sick and I haven't
bothered since. Good luck, it's very rewarding when you get there but it will take awhile.

I've always been kind of fascinated by sign language, and there's a deaf man in a class I attend; Β I wanted to be able to say at least a little to him. Β (He has a lot of fandoms in common with me, actually!) Β And the more I learn, the more I appreciate it, it can be a very poetic and lyrical way of communicating. Β Also, from an artistic point of view, I have a deaf character and want to be able to understand that experience a bit better so I can portray it at least somewhat accurately and sympathetically. Β
And oh man, I know! Β I'm excited to have a go at it though. Β I have a few original songs I've written and it'd be fun to be able to accompany myself in earnest. Β (I can sort of read music and play piano/keyboard a little, but only one hand at a time, really, so...) Β And the violin, holy crap! Β I hope your health permits you to learn one day, it's such a beautiful instrument. Β
