Thanks for faving one of my images, because it lead me back to your profile. Not only do I think you have way too little favs (you deserve more, beautiful graphite pieces, I am jealous), but I am also currently reading your blog. I am fascinated about what I read. What are you doing exactly for a living? I would love to be able to visit you someday. Alaska has always been a place I wanted to visit, even though I dislike the cold. (born and raised on the coast we mostly suffer from heavy summer and fall rain storms. Only had really cold winters with snow in my early youth.)

Thank you for your comments. I am an artist mostly though I do run the Sled Dog Sanctuary which takes up a lot of my time caring and training the dogs. Alaska is wonderful and a great place to visit. I live for the cold so the dogs and I tend to wait out the summers and live for winter.

Not so much a winter guy myself, but I don't really like the hot season either. Being born near the coast I love the stormy and rainy coast weather, the sea and the wide open land. If I ever make it over the big pond I will visit Alaska at least once.
Also, for the fact you have so little time to draw, you are incredible with graphite. I really need to practice more to get as good as that.

Yes, RL is first. I have found that especially this year. Lots of life changes and the dogs have needed me more than ever.
Thank you for your comments. I love working with graphite, it is such a simple beautiful medium. I am working on getting more comfortable with color though it might take a while. Also making it my new life promise to devote more time to my art and reflect more on the dogs and Alaska through it. Art is so healing...

awww yes thee great wonders of ak. i can really relate to that because i have be to ak multiple times before for fishing and though scouting. by the way i'm going to ak for collage in valdez. i really do like your art work. yes i do have some kool photos but i can find out how to put them on this web site. oh well. i do some far amont of dog sleddind myself.

Neat that your thinking of Valdez! I really like it down there, so beautiful though there never is enough snow for me. That is why we settled in Fairbanks/North Pole... lots of dry snow perfect for mushing...

ohh ya u'd betch ya there'd quite a lot of das snow up there Ehhhh???!? i'd be going to watch some of my mushing bud to help run an mushing event in the cascades called the cascade quest. they need me to help out to be a handler for quite of few smaller kennels who'd will be up there. by the way i've been down town north pole before and fairbanks. so i've must have been past your kennel by chance?

You probably haven't been by my kennel, or if you had its hard to see it from the road. The dogs are secluded back in the forest where there is lots of shade and protection from the elements.
Good luck on your handler work for your friend. That's the next best thing to being on the runners!

hey again, i wanted to ask a quick question. I liked the name Spock and wanted to know where you got it. I kinda used in that book i was askin' so many questions for. *blushes* hope that was okay. He is the lead dog of the woman's sled dog team. You know the one who saved the little girl, yeah. Spock is like the only dog the wolves let near her and the wolves are very protective of the girl... as is Spock.

Yeah, thats okay... too funny. 
Spock got his name because of his pointy ears. He reminded me of the Star Trek character when I saw him so the name stuck. And since he was the protector of all of us here at the kennel I figured it was right to name the kennel after him.
I'm not sure if there is a picture of him in my gallery, might be, Id have to check...
