I'm KIND of new... I've been drawing since I learned how to hold anything stick-worthy. o_o But since the pencil lead I bought lied, [It said it was HB. But it draws out more like 2B. QAQ] I'm now working on adapting to it. ._.

In that respect, I myself, am a newer artist, because I am only 21 years old, and though I have also been drawing since I could hold objects that are sticklike, I still have many things I am working on improving including color, hands, wrists, shade, lighting, concepts, eyes, expressiveness, arm and leg anatomy, foreshortening, back anatomy, dynamic poses that really BANG, static poses (because it's still hard for to me to draw a static figure, like for a reference sheet), perspective, digital line art skills, comic page layout and dynamics.
So, to me, yes, you're newer, and honestly, to myself, even I'm still new.
As for the pencil, just keep at it. Keep trying new mediums, even. I don't hardly ever pick up a chunk of charcoal or a lead stick/actual woodcase drawing pencil nowadays, but that doesn't mean I didn't do my best to get acquainted with them and comfortable with them.
