We might be hiding from nature currently but its beautiful face is beginning
to show itself after the gloom of winter, at least in the northern hemisphere
Perhaps the emotional lift spring gives will sustain us in the Covid-19 crisis. I hope my daffodil submission helped a little - thanks for faving Valeria Stay safe...

Question - am I the only one to regret the demise of the tie?
The modern world has new standards - suits with no tie. It must be my age
Thank you for faving the tie-less penguin Valeria. Really appreciated as always...

To complete the quote that inspired the title of my sunset photograph...
“Bursts of gold on lavender melting into saffron. It's the time of day when the
sky looks like it has been spray-painted by a graffiti artist.” ~ Mia Kirshner
Thanks for faving the image Valeria. Have a great week to come...

Hi Valeria, thanks so much for faving "The pain of her betrayal..."
I must correct the illusion, created for drama by the title, that this was a caged kitty.
In reality, the window screen was for security of the house not to incarcerate the cat

The poem I quoted defined the fuchsia flowers as "Ballerinas dancing in the breeze"
I love that description, I hadn't realised it before but it is so true

Mantis religiosa sounds more like a spell from a Harry Potter movie than the Latin name
for an insect so thanks for faving "There's a mantis praying..."

Part of Max Ehrmann's "Desiderata" advises: "Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Shakespeare identified the futility of 'painting the lily' as it's perfect anyway
The artist or photographer can only work to preserve that ephemeral perfection
Thanks for thinking my submission captured some of the the beauty of that lily

I've messed up Several deviants read the original title of my llama submission ("Give a llama -- Give me! Give me!") as a request or even demand for a llama to be given to me. This was NOT the case. When I composed the title I had the mental image of the llama jumping up and down, like an over excited little child
That is: "You are going to give a llama away? - Give Me! Give Me!"
My thoughts obviously didn't hit the right note so I changed the wording to "Pick ME!"
I hope this explanation makes things clear.
Anyway thanks for the fave it's appreciated Valeria

YuzukiKuchikine In reply to cricketumpire [2018-10-12 23:20:56 +0000 UTC]
I understood it as the Llama badge jumping up and down saying pick me. Not that you wanted people to give you llamas
