Yeah, I'm about 1/2 way done with the program. It's been really nice, and they're really sincere as far as teaching animation principles, acting, and cinematography, and not how to get Maya or 3Ds Max to behave. It's straight animation.
And yeah, I'm the youngest guy in my virtual class right now. So many of these folks are in their 30s and 40s who suddenly want to pursue a career in the entertainment biz. And even the folks my age and younger sometimes have NEVER even played with video or animation, and suddenly want a job at Pixar cause they loved Finding Nemo. Pretty sad.
I'm a semi late starter, but I have stacks of flipbooks, stop motion videos, short films, and flash animation tests, and several worn out animation books, so I feel this was only the next appropriate step. Fuck spending 100,000 dollars at a Californian art school. This was a great alternative.
Anyway, yeah, it's not a bad program. You don't learn drawing/draftsmanship, and this is something I wish they also did, but overall the experience has been solid.
