i think u will some soon to Egypt
here some tips for u that might help u
-get heavy clothes especially at night and light for day
-don't take pic for anything related to army or police because people here are protective when it comes to our army
-don't be afraid when children run toward u they just want to talk to u
-eat Egyptian food gradually because it is heavy on the stomach that not used to it
- ask people before u take pic for them
- the clothes have to cover as mush as possible from the body as Muslim i don't have to tell u but u can tell this for a friend or something
-u have to visit Al-Azhar and pray their
finally enjoy ur time as much as u could

Yes I'm just a week away from arriving at Egypt looking forward to it a great deal. Thank you so much for the tips, it is so thoughtful and incredibly helpful, InshaAllah it will be a wonderful, memorable trip.
My friends have all been told that they must cover up and they've old me how they've gone shopping for long-sleeved shirts etc, so I just hope i don't have to remind them to pack it!! I don't know anything about Egyptian food, what do you reccommend?
Is Al-Azhar a place in Cairo...?
I'm so nervous/excited about going! I have to keep reminding myself that its a study tour, I also have to get my essay done at the same time, but I will have fun InshaAllah

it is a study tour but ur studies is fun
don't worry u will do good in the essay InshaAllah
Egyptian food u have koshary ,Fteer meshaltet with Mesh "old cheese", Molheya, Foll and tameya "flafel".... and a lot more just when u arrive tell the hotel that u want to eat Egyptian food all are really tasty
all the Egyptian food is prepared with Egyptian souse called tasbeka contain onion and tomato

Al-Azhar is place in Cairo ,it is an Islamic place and university where people all over the world come to learn about Islam ,and contain Masjed Al-Azhar well known in Islamic world

End of March for 2 weeks, going to be going to be travelling from Cairo to Luxor to Aswan and back. I'm basically doing all the planning because the rest of my group (although lovely people) have never travelled and are totally clueless, right now I'm wondering where the supermarket would be so we can buy water bottles and snack-stuff to take around with us to sites and for me looking up where the closest masjids are to sites because I don't intend to miss my prayers just because we're wandering around... Do places in Egypt close during prayer? I lived in Saudi Arabia where everything closed so I'm wondering if its the same.

not all places close some yes because Christians live here as well in Saudi Arabia no Christians

Masjids in everywhere here don't worry about that
also u fill find a lot of places to buy what u need not only on supermarkets
