Hallo Julia

Ich weiss nicht ob ich dir die best Antwort auf Deutsch geben kann, aber ich werde es versuchen ^^. Ich habe Kunst in Englisch studiert und leider sind daher alle meine Fachworte Englisch. Bitte entschuldige daher falls ich manmal ins Englische zurueckspringe.

Wenn ich das richtig verstanden hab wuerdest du gerne mehr Figuren mit mehr "Character" zeichnen, oder du fragtest wie mann das lernt.
Ich glaube die Frage ist aehnlich wie man seienen eigentlichen Styl bekommt. Ich fand den besten Weg das zu lernen ist sich andere Kuenstler zu finden die einen Styl haben den du gerne magst. Wenn du kannst kopiere Zeichnungen von der person und schau dir an wie sie die Augen Zeichnen, wie die "face-shape" zeichnen, die Nase, den Mund...und so weiter.

Es ist am besten, wenn du nicht nur einen Künstler kopierst den du sehr gerna magst sondern viele. Wass passieren kann wenn du nur einen Style kopierst, dann sieht oftmals dein Styl genauso aus wie der von demjenigen den du kopierst. Aber wenn du viele verschiedene Künstler kopierst, wirst du kleine Dinge von jedem von ihnen in deine Kunst aufnehmen und du wirst deinen eigenen Stil auf diese Weise erschaffen.

Eine andere Sache, die eine wirklich gute Übung ist, ist, bewusste Entscheidungen jedes Mal zu treffen, wenn Du ein Gesichtsteil in die Form des Gesichtes zeichnest. Ich habe eine Zeichnung gemacht, die das besser erklären könnte, aber lasst mich zuerst versuchen, es in Worten zu erklären. Nehmen wir an, das du eine Gesichtsform gezeichnet hast. Jetzt ist es Zeit die Augen zu zeichnen. Im Design sagt man immer "In der Mitte zu zeichnen ist langweilig". Also treffen wir eine Entscheidung. Sollten die Augen groß oder klein sein, nahe der Oberseite des Kopfes oder näher zum Kinn? Dicht zusammen, oder weit ausereinander? Sobald Du diese Entscheidung getroffen hast, gehst Du dann, und zeichnest das naechste Gesichtsteil; die Nase. Dann stellst Du dir wieder die gleiche Frage. Will ich, dass die Nase klein oder groß ist, näher an den Augen oder näher am Kinn? Und so weiter. Am Ende hast du einen wirklich interessanten Charakter, wenn du das tust. Ich habe jemandem auf einer webseite namens "Animated Buzz" mit einer ähnlichen Frage geholfen. Ich hab dort eine Zeichnung hochgeladen die hoffentlich das Konzept besser erklären .

Wow danke Bianca. du hast dir ja wirklich Zeit genommen mir so eine lange Antwort zu schreiben. Wie ich es Verstanden habe geht es viel ins Extreme. Ich werde das gerne einmal Probieren. Darf ich dich noch mal was Fragen? Ich habe häuftig etwas Probleme mit der Komposition der Bilder. Ich finde das es oft... hm nicht interessant genug wirkt. Hast du da auch eine Ratschlag für mich, den ich Versuchen kann um zu setzen? Vielen lieben Dank

Question: How do you get better at Composition?

Of course you can ask more questions! Composition is super hard for sure. One person that it might help to look at in regards to composition is "Hans Bacher". He has really great tips and images to study for Composition. Hans Bacher was the Art Director on Mulan and he created a style guide book for the film, to explain to all the other artists how to make appealing compositions. I'll try to find some links that you that might be helpful.

Sometimes there isn't as much explanation in  some of these drawings, but try to look for what the lines in the pictures are doing. For example if you have someone holding a spear, Where is the line spear pointing or how is it dividing the picture. Often times it will lead to the character or the place where you want the eye to be. Also look at the swirly clouds. Often times the swirls go in the direction of the character and not away from it.

Framed Ink - This book has some incredible compositions in it. I just got this book over the holidays and can't wait to dive into it .

And just to give you a few quick things to think about. Depending what kind of image you want to create, always consider that you have "Foreground", "Middleground" and "Background" in your compositions. Adding these objects will give your image a lot of depth. You could even blur on of them to help you focus on your subject.

The other thing to consider is the flow through your picture. This is of course a more abstract concept, but one way of thinking about it, is that you are creating "invisible lines" with the shapes of your objects in your picture, that make the eye of the viewer travel through the frame. Often time you want the viewer to have a way 'into the picture" but also a way out. From the "in point to the out point" the viewer eyes travel around and through the picture. You can also think about repeating shapes. For example. If you have an image with only squares and one circle. You're going to look at the circle. Or size. If you only have small objects and one big object, you will look at the big object.

Manchmal gibt es in einigen dieser Zeichnungen nicht so viele Erklärungen. Wenn du dir die Bilder anschause, versuche den Rhytmus der Linien in den Bildern zu suchen. Zum Beispiel, wenn jemand einen Speer hält, wohin laengt die Linie des Speers oder wie teilt sie das Bild auf. Oftmals laengt die Linie zu der Person in dem Bild. Schau dir auch die swirly clouds an. Oft gehen die Wirbel in die Richtung wo der Charakter steht. Nicht von ihm weg.

Framed Ink - Dieses Buch enthält einige unglaubliche Kompositionen. Ich hab gerade dieses Buch über die Feiertage bekommen und kann es kaum erwarten, hineinzuschaun .

Falls du nicht Zeit hast dir die Buecher anzuschauen, schreib ich eben nochmal ein paar kleine Typs. Abhängig davon, welche Art von Bild du erstellen möchten, berücksichtige immer, das jedes Bild einen "Vordergrund", "Mittelgrund" und "Hintergrund" hat. Durch das hinzufügen von verschiedenen Objekten erhält das Bild dadurch mehr Tiefe. Du kannst auch zum beispiel dein Hintergrund oder den Vordergrund verschwimmen lassen. Das hilft dem Zuschauer zu sagen wo du willst das sie hinschaun.

Eine andere Sache zu erwaene ist ..."the flow through the picture". Dies ist natürlich ein abstrakteres Konzept. Ich versuche es zu erklaeren. Der "flow" durch ein bild wird hergeschaffen durch "unsichtbare Linien" die kreeirt werden mit den Formen die in dem  Bild sind. Oftmals möchte man, dass der Betrachter einen Weg "ins Bild" hat, aber auch einen Weg raus. Vom "In-Punkt zum Out-Punkt" wandert die Betrachter durch das Bild. Man kann auch über das Wiederholen von Formen nachdenken. Zum Beispiel: Wenn Sie ein Bild mit nur Quadraten gezeichnet wurde und nur einem Kreis, dann guckt der Betrachter automatisch auf den Kreis. Oder mann kann auch mit Größe spielen. Wenn man nur kleine Objekte und ein großes Objekt hat, dann guckt der Betrachter auf das große Objekt.
