I'm really from Antarctica, and I say it because I know some put it as to cover their true nationality. My day job is mining penguins and that's not a joke. Those penguins you see in the television are ones we dig up and let run free range until the bosses are ready to traffick them abroad to highest bidder. You think it is hard to shovel your driveway? Try digging five miles into permafrost for a little of the black and white and a small pay and barely enough food to live on. The equipment never fucking works and we have either to spend all day fixing it or spend all day digging with pickax. But our gang is a bunch of hard guys and we have a couple good techs who can get shit running even in worst cold, so we make best quota for last couple months.The work is hard but it's all there is to keep warm, so we have to do it. Besides, boss-man would cut our food and pay if we did not make penguin quota, and then what? Other bosses won't take a guy from a crew that doesn't make quota, it's a death warrant.
So think of me breaking my back for a couple beaks next time you are at the zoo looking at your cute little penguins. Antarctican pride!
