Yes, I am Christian. No I'm not religious. No I dont follow anyone's set of 'this is wrong, this is right.'. And yes i have an open but not recieving mind. You who will take what anyone says is beauty and say 'okay' are the lazy ones who didnt come out and say 'well maybe I should think for myself'. You took what everyone else was doing and followed it like a sheep.
And being KIND and giving Constuctive Criticism on that type of photograph, to me, is just saying 'oh cover it up a little bit, make it a little less pornographic'. That doesnt fix anything. It's still ugly and wrong to me. To me, that picture doesn't deserve anything but pure criticism. And that's the only way you heard my message. Had I come out and said 'I'll be praying for you, one day you'll see the error in your ways, God's crying at what you've done' and all that rhetoric, you wouldn't have listened to any argument of mine and just said 'conservative christian kid, he has no idea what the world is like'.
Now there's a difference between OPENMINDED and ACCEPTING. Open minds are what the world needs, people OPEN TO CHANGE and open to THINK ABOUT IT. Accepting minds are what this world is suffering from, in my opinion. We ACCEPT a homicide rate larger than the population of most countries, we accept prostitution and gang-infested neighborhoods, we accept drugs and violence as run-of-the-mill events in our lives. We ACCEPT those things because we're too lazy to fight it. And we ACCEPT these 'pieces of art' because we're too lazy to look past what the artist SAID and see what they actually DID. Took a photo of a naked person and said 'isn't that beautiful?' or 'this means to me more than it can to you'.
My definition of beauty is not what is natural or what arouses me. My definition of beauty is ANYTHING THAT INSPIRES EMOTION OR THOUGHT. Picasso, Rembrandt, Lichtenstein, Michaelangelo, these artists did beautiful things. Now photographers in this day do beautiful things as well. They may wait for the PERFECT lighting on a tree to take it, or may just see one of what I TAKE to be God's wonders and capture it on film because they were lucky enough to witness it at that given moment in time.
Now before I get a lecture on traditional artists' view of the naked body, I might stop to say a few things: One, the mere fact that they were painted and/or sculpted makes them beautiful to me because what that artist did and sat through was incredible. Hours upon hours of dedication to making that piece. Two, these artists knew that beauty was not only in the female body but the male body as well. They saw the beauty in God's creation. All these people on Deviantart are seeing the LUST in your mind's creation.
So please, take up your keyboards and send e-mails and comments to me to say how much you disapprove of my actions, call me a conservative, call me a hypocritical christian, tell me I'm not with the times, tell me I HATE people and that's hypocritical, tell me I'm the reason why America sucks for you, and tell me I'll be the reason why a wonderful place like Deviantart is shut down one day. But remember this:
I'm the one going against the crowd here, I'm the one going for the change here, I'm the one stepping out of the social-set boundries of the community, and I'm the one going by and staying true to MY BELIEFS and not letting some kid with a camera and a naked model affect my view of life.

So Im the first to watch you=/ what kind of prize do i get? ill be honest and say i came here only to find out what kind of art and what kind of person takes the time to post comments like the one you posted to myheadphones photo series. i agree, people should expect asanine comments like that, slandering, etc etc. but wouldnt you think, in a community like this, with all varied different artists, that people would be openminded and accepting to whatever they may come across? and if it doesnt suit someone, you would also think they would say why, from an artistic point of view. not a simple 'I dont get it.. it doesnt fly' Constructive criticism. As a matter of fact i post most of my stuff hoping for constructive criticism. This is a free community, and you can say whatever you will, but perhaps you should think about things before you post. Why? Is there a need to be a straight up asshole about it? You can be blunt without being a jerkoff. Maybe thats your thing.... but... your Christian? Be kind to thy neighbor? Riiight. Its a shame how corrupt a young mind can become from reading the bible. Open your mind stop focusing on whats wrong with the world and look at the beauty.
Posting positively or negatively are your option as you stated, but I think they inteded an open minded individual to push that button that says dislike, and to follow with constructive criticism. Not fluant your one way beleive system into peoples worlds that do not care to hear it.

Firstly, thank-you for taking the time to view and coment 'Passion s 2' . It was a difficult decision weather to submit it or not, which image to submit, and I actually regret not posting my original choice, which was the direct follow up to 1: just heads and shoulders, and a kiss that could be interpreted in so many ways (from playful to loving to lovers).
A few thoughts in reply to some of the comments:
- I submit work on DA to share it with people, not to upset anyone: it seems that the subject matter however is considered 'sick' by a number of viewers. I apologise to them, however I fail to see how beauty and positive emotions (love or passion) between adults are 'sick', whilst bloodied bodies or staged suicide pictures (both very common and approved on DA) are not. Again however, apologies, and maybe avoid clicking in the future if the icon hints of an image that might upset you
- As stated before, I believe that the merit is indeed with the wonderful and wonderfully expressive models, however does that make the image less worthy of sharing? It might make me talentless, but here we are appreciating this image, not me
- I'm a little disturbed by the constant references to porn and perversion. Frankly I think that if it was a man and a woman in the embrace, no-one would have called it porn. Is two girls such a disturbing and perverted sight? Never mind that one is married, they are best friends, and the emotions can be interpreted in so many ways: some playful, some more There is nothing explicit here, so it's the viewer that is interpreting.....
That's all I can think of now, sorry if I missed addressing your particular issue or question To everyone that took the time to comment, thank-you, and to those that enjoyed the two images, I am considering doing a quick web page in the coming weeks with the 10 best images from the shoot.

I have to say, if you have that big of a problem with nudity, then you are probably in the wrong place. Art in its original form is the human body, you should know that allready. It is not evil or wrong. Degradation of the human body is, but it is important to learn the line between them. You are parroting typically American Christian values. Remember though, unless you are mormon, your religion did not start here, find your own values and the true values of your faith before dictating others.

However, this image holds an enormous amount of emotion for me.
My nudes are my expression of the oneness of this wonderful planet we live on and the way that beauty synchronistically manifests in many forms.
If you can't see it because of ignorance, bigotry or stupididty, that is OK.
It's a big planet out there and I think you still have time to experience some of it, if you honestly open your eyes and your heart.

YOU ch405t1c5 need to realize that art is something different to everyone... respect and move on even if you dont really like it...

Thanks for your comment (StillWaiting III) but no thanks...I make art for me and not for anybody...I'm glad you like it but just to let you know I didn't go crazy on the details in the image...The reflections from the 4 mirrors did that effect on it's own...And the woman figure in the glass ball was actually a photo taken of my little statue in my bathroom...
Just because things might not look right to the human eye doesn't mean that it's not right at all....Imperfections makes art unique..
