I only realy do 40k, i dabbled in fantasy, but it doesnt hold my interest as much as the sci-fi.

my first model was a box of chaos spawn, then some possessed. From there i went mainly chaos, though i have a legal army for every codex army but sisters. My main is still chaos, but i also have a large necron and grey knights armies. My grey knights holds the largest painted army.

Ah, I like your taste!. I too had a Grey Knights army
The reasoning for going with the wolves was though corny in relation to the game was that I love wolves though I only get to see them on TV . they are one of the creatures I like..
I do have a couple of very small 40k armies besides the Sw. IF you don't mind at all in watching me, I would deeply love to keep in touch with you if you'd be open to the occasional chat

oh wow, it is just that.... gues people went on vacations and whatnot there is an anime thingie that i might have denied due to being not exactly grim and dark, but oh well
Now to reinstall everything on this thingie, and then to finally clear up the galleries and get the people motivated to post apocalypse stuff. I'll make an apoc journal this weekend when it comes out asking people to photo formations and superheavies and whatnot.

I was going to deny the anime one, but grim or not, it is a fairly accurate representation of the 40k character/unit

By the way, if you guys are still looking for new admins at EoT I can definitely try to contribute some time. I'm head admin of two groups right now, so I've got experience, and one of them is one of the larger anthro art groups on DA so I know how to deal with very heavy influxes of submissions.

Cant be bothered with moldline, though i do clean for serious ones, the rest only realy show up in photos, and cant be seen on the tabletop.
As for paints, i do thin them down. Generally i use a 1:1 or 1:2 mix of wateraint (depending on waether its foundation paint or not). Even then i tend to drybrush most of the time, which doesnt lay it on thick.
Do you paint yourself? i didnt find any in your gallery. (I always check others stuff when i get comments, to see if the practice what they preach )
Just so you know though, this kind of comment would be better on a particular deviation, and could do with more structure on the comment, as on the main profile it just seems abit trolly.

The only reason I have to say so is because the mold lines are blatantly obvious once you apply paint to a profile, and yes you can see four feet away on a table top. Don't think you would of not been told if you put this on any sort of war gaming forum or image board.

Which is fair enough, though its mostly just fincaste that i have mold line trouble with.
As i said though, photos make it more obious. Quite ofter what looks realy large in a photo is an insignificant detail on tabletop.
Anyway, as ive said to people before, im not looking to entre golden deamon with these models, just doing it for tabletop.

That time of year again, i will post a donation poll during this week so that we can accumulate the points for another year of premium. I still have some 450 points remaining from last time, so we're not on pure zero

General comment for all recent work: I like the conversion of the harpy but i would opted for a smaller head (or torso and head of carnifex with tail of trygon). But, main comment is for hte bases: do drybrush and/or ink them with something after that paint is applied just to give them a more natural-looking shade

perhaps an ink better than a wash, stronger pigment. Experiment

honesty, i just cant be fudged. i usually get realy board of a squad by the time i finnish painting them. i have all the kit to base them, but i dont wanna T_T

gdpr-1688292 In reply to chaotea [2012-01-31 15:14:20 +0000 UTC]
tsk tsk tsk. Do the bases separatley then. Or something. A model really pops out when it's base is completing him.
Or start sticking them on clear plastic bases

i plan to do them, but its paint more models or do bases, and i always have more models to paint.

strangley, i do all in one go, as in, if i decide to paint a model, under painting i do both him/her and it's base

most times i have to fight to will myself to finnish a squad. still, in my mind the plan is to base loads and loads all in one go. when that moment will be is another matter.
