Thanks for your interest. I remember your pencil sketches and consider them an influence, that was great stuff. I've been using DAZ3d for about 2 years. I didn't want to spend the money for Poser in case digital rendering was something I'd drop after an initial try. After about four months of struggle the light bulb went on and I was hooked.
The costume is an amalgam of purchased and free clothing items.
Her props, tiara, bracelets, belt and lasso were modeled in a CAD program then exported as object files for import into DAZ studio.
The clothing items are modified with a combination of textures, trans maps and deformers. The deform tool is one neat feature included with the free version of Studio. The classic shape at the top of her boots was created by stretching the mesh using the deform tool. I consider myself no better than intermediate. Mastering lighting is still a challenge and can make or break a render. I can make an indoor scene with somewhat interesting shadow, but outdoor scenes are still a puzzle. I'd be surprised if I'm
using 50% of what the software is capable of.
Take a look at the sharecg web site and browse whats available in freebies from poser ready items (any poser item will usually work in DAZ studio), to textures, and 3d models that can be converted to work in DAZ or Poser. Good luck, and again thanks for looking.
