Just bought a new bike which will be my main means of transportation since I'll be living much closer to campus next semester. Went backpacking for the first time last month. And I just resumed Time and Darkness (that comic that has been hanging around forever without getting too far. not anymore!)

Bikes are a great choice for moving around. Just remember to never use them indoors, there's a time and place for everything. 

I'm not too sure what backpacking is, but it sounds fun...? Probably a good experience to have. 

I just finished a week of exams, and we're starting to get the grades back. Not looking too good for me.. Isn't this around the time people in the US also get a lot of exams, or are they yet to come?

Me too, believe me.

Backpacking is essentially stuffing everything you'll need to survive for a while into a big backpack which you then carry around like your own pack mule. Camping is accomplished. Much fun is had. (also, don't burn rhododendron wood - it releases arsenic)

My exams are next week. (my sister's aren't until January, but that's just the stupidity of public high schools)

Most (if not all) universities over here end their semesters before the end of the year. Therefore, exams are within the first half of December.

In the case of high school and lower, because the students are held captive from fall until spring, many do exams after holiday (which makes no sense AT ALL) and then again at the beginning of summer.

The story was getting quite complex to write as I hadn't fully worked it out beforehand. Plus at the time school was taking up the majority of my time.
