I check your account every now and again, hoping to see an update. Your art has always been a favourite of mine. The way you handled anatomy, your character and outfit designs and your vintage style is a joy to see and I'm so happy that your art is still up here to be enjoyed. I hope wherever life has taken you that you're happy and continuing to make beautiful art!

Just found your gallery and I had to restrain myself to not favorite everything! ThereΒ΄s so much in your style that I love and been trying to (unsuccessfully) insert in my own style: the clear lines, the soft colors, the 20s/30s vintage vibe. I wanna be you when I grow up!

Just stumbled across your artwork and it's amazing. Love the character designs, the playfulness blended with seductiveness. All well developed characters and a beautiful style.

hello i really love your art and i just have to ask where do you get all the inspiration? do you have a muse? what is it that really sparks your imagination and creativity? because i really need some tips i am currently in between styles and think yours is a nice style to drift towards
i was previously on deviant art under wearystargazer97 but deactivated the account because i felt i had too many favourites that were more 'likes' than 'loves' which would obviously be in my favourites though i can assure you your drawings were definitely loves

Thank you! I wish I could give you some great advice for finding a style, but I didn't really find my style so much as evolve into it.
I don't have any specific artistic muses. I have people whose work I like, but I don't try to make my style match theirs (like, Norman Rockwell is my favorite artist in the world because of his tiny details and the way he draws people doing people things, but I've never tried to draw like him).
I spent most of my childhood trying to search for a way of drawing, so I'd change my styles depending on the current book I was reading, and then I settled into doing a lot of realism (portraits) during middle and high school. It wasn't until I was about sixteen that I actually started drawing constantly and my style sort of came out of the realism I had been doing and my attempts to pare it down to the lines. I don't really know where my particular style came from!

Hey I did not forget you. Send me an address where I can send you the money and I will look forward to your drawings. Need to go see the movie "Water for Elephants"

How horrible will keep your family in my prayers. Love your period drawings and would love you to do three or four five buck ones. How about deco/circus and they could be drawings from the story "Like Water for Elephants". This is one of my most favorite novels I actually read it again every few years. You choose what you want to do from whatever parts of the book inspire you. I am from Seattle myself so how should we arrange the payments?

I'd love to do some Water for Elephants art! I've had a couple of requests for some from other people, too, and I enjoyed the novel!
I've had people send me money through paypal (my account email there is pupscout@gmail.com), but if that's too complex or irritating, I've also allowed people to send me checks or money through the mail (just send me a note and I can give you my mailing address in that case).

Hey there!
I've added you to my +devwatch, and I've featured you in my journal, under the artists whose art has a deeper meaning to me category.
Thank you for making such inspiring art and don't ever stop!

I am not even worthy to be in the presence of your *god-like skill*, but since I might as well...
Do you do commission work? I've been wanting a 1920s-era George Enescu-esque concert poster for my character and since that is so... very much up your alley, I would kill for a piece of that magic...

How come you know about George Enescu?

hauntofdresden In reply to fripturici [2011-05-01 20:43:48 +0000 UTC]
I've been researching the Roma for the past three years. He is often acknowledged as a celebrity in the world of the gypsy violin~

fripturici In reply to hauntofdresden [2011-05-02 12:09:45 +0000 UTC]
gypsy violin??? ....he went to a regular conservatory and he is considered as one of the most famous composer of romanian cult music. He did bring in some of his compositions romanian traditional music. He is not gypsy, you are probably making a mistake and thinking that he is Grigoras Dinicu.
Enescu, and usually names that end in "escu" are Romanian.

hauntofdresden In reply to fripturici [2011-05-03 12:31:30 +0000 UTC]
I knew about Grigoras Dinicu...
And I was aware of the 'Escu' thing.
Which means...
DAMN IT, HAVE MY SOURCES LIED TO ME?
XD This is one problem with researching the Roma, even when you've befriended them- either they've set up false information to confuse and distract you from infiltrating the culture or you have to pay a ridiculous price in exchange for even a fraction of the truth, upon which they immediately threaten you for knowing...

D'awww thank you. I assure it's not very god-like.
I'm not taking commissions at this exact moment because I'm a busy bee at art school, but I am planning a tentative thing for this summer, so I may be opening up commissions then. Hover around here starting in May to see what happens.

Damn it, it is god-like. Do not challenge Big Mama on this matter.
And I shall do precisely that! And if you should find yourself in need money before then, holler in my direction...
