Hi, nice to have your Birthday message, how are you keeping, well I hope? Not too close to all the fires your suffering I also hope. I've had my fair share of health problems of late, but just at the moment, i'm not too bad. I just posted my last thing of the year. so I can take a rest for a few weeks now, then pick it all up again.
Let me wish you a great Christmas, and a cooler new year, I don't think I could survive the sort of temperatures you are enduring at the moment.

Hello sorry to have been absent for so long, to be honest I had become a bit 'jaded' with the painting, and needed a break, if you see the latest thing I've posted, The Tiger, I actually stopped halfway into that one, but i'm back at it again now.
I've had Polymyalgia for nearly two years now, it's an inflammation of the nerves around the muscles, and is very painful, in all my joints, i'm taking steroids on a 'reducing' daily basis, but when the dose gets too low, the pain starts to come back, as it id now! I'm seeing a Rheumatologist at the local hospital, so i'm hoping i'll get over it in time.
How are you doing? I know you have health problems of your own? I hope you have a good Christmas, and a peaceful, happy new year. Back soon Colin x

Very good picture of Mr. Spall as the great Turner, master of fiery colors. Now, if only they would do a film about his one contemporary of equal ability, John Constable (in terms of full canvases - William Blake's work would also bear comparison to them).
There is an old Paramount film from the 1940s with Paulette Goddard and Ray Milland called Kitty, dealing with 18th Century English life. I believe that Cecil Kellaway portrays Reynolds in that film.

Yes, I've seen that one! Love Dali's stuff and was thinking of trying one of his one day. Another surrealistic painter I really like is Alex Gross-creepy at times but very modern and fun.
I only just got back into art a couple years ago and have no idea what my style is yet. I really need to try oil and watercolor as I think they're prettier than acrylic but at the moment I'm just doing whatever people ask for
