Well yeah, my friend of mine also said that too. Some said that Clip Studio Paint is good for illustration. But in my opinion, you can use any illustration software program that really suits you. I heard some of famous illustration also use Paint Tool SAI too

Yeah that's true. But having drawing table doesn't mean you can make illustration that you want in time because the feel is different than you draw it with pencil and paper. But, even using mouse you can still make great illustration too. For myself I'm using both of them, drawing table and mouse.

Practically, you just need add the dark color from your base color in new layer. You can search it in google how to shading. But every artist has their own way to shading, you can choose which it suits you
