{ I think they all will eventually have their time to shine given how the projected lifespan of the series will hopefully be long. Most Shounens last quite a while. Kyoka stood out to me immediately because of her unique style and the fact she owns it. Cool, yet relatable. I am not too sure if you ever caught up to the manga, but there is an arc that gives her more attention if you want to dig in.

alright, random cruddy starter, go !-- Normally, any regular teenagers would be awake during the late night, right ? The blond's honey colored eyes were still open, prominent dark bags were under his eyes that stood out against his pale face. Sitting up on his bed, his expression was blank, a small frown etched into his face as he sat in the darkness of his bedroom. The only light to be seen was the crescent moon that lit only a small part of the window and leaked into the room between the curtains that were closed, though there was a small sliver where the light came in. Another sleepless night for the deceitful boy, the weight of fatigue falling on him long ago, yet his mind refused to be quiet when he tried to sleep and regain the energy he loss throughout the day, and even energy lost during the past days.
Without making a sound, Kano pushed himself off the bed, making his way to his bedroom door, the door squeaking quietly as he opened it and clicking shut behind him. He meandered his way down the hallway, passing a few bedrooms that the other members of the Mekakushi Dan resided in, then turned the corner and headed into the kitchen. Eh, as long as he was awake, he might as well get a drink, right ? He didn't realize just how dry his throat was until he reached the cabinets and removed a glass, helping himself to the water from the tap. He sat in the silence of the night at the dining table, quenching his thirst; the least he could do for his overworked body.
Feline-like optics focused on the front door of the building. He was prone to night walks, it was the only thing that seemed to help him clear his head so he could attempt to get his body some rest. The leader of the dan had found out about these walks and strictly prohibited him from taking them, worrying for his safety in the night. Of course, he lied, promising that he'd never do it again, yet he still found himself doing so. He couldn't help it, as much as he hated going against her orders, so he continued to leave at late hours and come back early in the morning. Trying to fight the urge to wander off again, he drank slowly, but his eyes never left the door, as if it tempted him. The boy sighed, brushing his hair out of his face before finishing his glass, placing it in the sink and beginning his walk to the door, failing to resist. All he wanted was a good night sleep, was that really all that selfish ?

Kido had left rather early during the morning, having no important business to really do, nor did she even have an excuse for it. It was just her wandering by herself, doing her own thing by traveling around the city in the warm heat. However, she never really knew that it would take about late at night for her to get back home anyway. It wasn't like she didn't know what she was doing. However, she knew one thing for sure, she'd get a rather good rest anyway.
It was dark. Moonlight was flooding everything as she looked up at it's dark sky, however, her mood was always stoic, emotionless, blank. But those who knew her actually know she's just as sensitive as the others in the Dan, regardless of her looks and personality. She was still the 'big sister', the 'team mom' of the group. Anyway, looks like it was time for her to go back home and rest. She remembered prohibiting Kano from taking late night walks, but seeing that she was technically doing it herself, she'd probably have to apologize for her hypocrisy.
She strolled back home, not bothering with anything else as she was making her way back with the others. Probably have a drink of soda, or water, and go to bed. In the morning she'll probably wash up, and stay with the others. Yeah, sounds like a plan. However, her dark brown eyes couldn't help but really notice that once her hand was by the door by the time she got home, it was opening from the other side. Looking up, she saw the door slowly opening, revealing Kano. She blinked, rather, confused why he was up. Regardless, she did the same anyway.

omg, well, i'm glad you don't think it's cruddy !! midnight is obviously the perfect time to write starters www-- Opening the front door, the boy was surprised to be met with dark brown optics greeting him at the door. His eyes widened for a moment, shocked by the sudden interaction with the leader. He could have sworn that she was in bed, she usually was, after all. But she was out at ungodly hours too ? Quickly, he fabricated a mask, his eyes heating up, turning a crimson color before fading back to their natural golden hue. The dark bags beneath his eyes had vanished, as though they never existed, color returning to his face along with a broad smile creasing his lips. With his disguise, he appeared to be much more energetic and laid-back than he did before. He only hoped that the emerald-haired individual wasn't able to tell that he was so exhausted in the darkness. Side-stepping, he moved out of the doorway, his hand still on the knob of the door, further opening the door so that she could enter the house.
" Ah, Kido-san ! Make yourself at home, " he teased, his eyes gleaming and his voice lighthearted. " Woooow, Kido-san is out at such a late hour ? Young ladies like yourself shouldn't wander off in the middle of the night; It's waaaay past bedtime ! " His grin widened slightly as he spoke, though behind the mask, he struggled to keep his eyes open. Even if they did close, there was no way he'd be able to sleep now. Urging the leader inside, he shut the door behind them, quiet as to not wake anyone else in the place. Despite his carefree exterior, he couldn't help but wonder what Kido had been doing out so late. Sure, call him hypocritical, but he was genuinely curious. He shoved his hands into the pockets of his hoodie; He hadn't bothered to get dressed, so he simply wore his hoodie with a plain t-shirt and gray sweat pants on beneath. He tilted his head slightly, his eyes still focused on the ghost-like individual.
" So, so I noticed you weren't in bed, so I though I'd go look for you, " he spoke again, the lie rolling off his tongue with ease. " But since you're home now, I can see our leader is fine ? Though of course, I was certain Kido-san would be just fine ~ " He offered a wide smile. " But now that you're back, I presume you're headed off to bed ? After all, leader must be so tired from her long walk ! "

It took a few silent minutes to look at him, however the first thing she ever saw was his smile. She frowned, under her hoodie, however, she couldn't stop how he would act, regardless if she went and punched him, kicked him, anything that gave him pain. However, she gripped onto the wall that kept the door in place, silently stepping inside the house, as she always knew that he was always planning something within that smile of his.
It was late, so with that being said, she didn't want to protest, however, she simply took off her hoodie, and the red shirt that was underneath it, revealing a shirt as she turned around to quietly hang up her things. She then decided that she couldn't be silent forever, taking off her band that kept her long hair tied, as she then went for her sneakers. She didn't want to wake up anyone else, so she was soft, but she looked at him.
" I should be asking you the same thing, Kano... " she sighed, but then she had her hands behind her, slightly leaning from a wall as she looked at him, " I...basically had nothing but to simply wander on my own...I was a little lost, but I made it back anyway... " she replied gently. " ... " he must be having trouble sleeping, seeing that he was up pretty late. " ...Kano...are you alright? "she rreally wanted him to be honest, if he was okay. She cared for him just like everyone in the Dan, even if he was a liar, or a joker.

it's like my favorite settings t bh-- Listening to the leader's excuse as to why she was out so late, the corner's of his lips curled up into an amused sort of smirk, striding back into the kitchen area and grabbing two glasses, filling them both up with cold water and placing them on the table for the two of them. He figured that she was probably beat; He was unsure as to how long she was actually out and about for, that was, so it was the least he could do, even if she was disregarding her own strict rules about taking nighttime walks. Honestly, it wasn't that Kano hated how hypocritical she was being since she was leader, after all, and in the proper position to be in charge of her own actions. Perhaps it was simply that he worried for her safe return ? Sure, he knew that Kido was perfectly capable of handling herself, so if she was attacked or something else dire came up, she'd be able to fend for herself. Still, he couldn't help but worry about her. Hell, he'd join her if this nightly walk wasn't the first one she's done and continues to do more, though he was positive she'd turn him down, or send him back home if he attempted to follow.
" Oh, I see, I see, " he replied, gently hitting his head, as if to show he hadn't put much thought into her disappearance. He put on a mask of mock offense when she returned the question of why he was still awake at such an ungodly hour. " Hey, hey, unlike you, I was still home, " he retorted, putting his hands up defensively. " So, so really, you don't have anything to be mad at me fore, you know ? I didn't disobey your instructions, I'm still inside ! " Despite this banter, he didn't once bring up how she disregarded the curfew she herself has assigned. He didn't find it necessary to point it out since she was most definitely aware of her actions, and must have had a reason for wandering off. Taking a sip from his own glass, he took the other glass of water into his grasp, handing it to Kido and placing his own beverage back down on the table top.
The question that really threw him off was her inquiry of his well-being. He had been thrown off guard by the question, but nonetheless, his grin grew, eyes focused on her. Tilting his head slightly, he replied. " Ahh, that's a strange question ! Do I seem out of the ordinary tonight or something ? Or perhaps it's as to why I'm still awake ? To answer that question, I simply woke up to get a drink of water, but realizing that Kido-san wasn't in her bed, I went on a search ! Finally, I decided to leave the house to look some more and ta-da ! " With that, he made a broad gesture to the girl, that broad grin spread across his face. " You appeared out of nowhere ! How sca-ry ! "
