Hey mine is short, somewhat emo, and currently teal blue... I'm pretty sure there's something relatively hardcore about that. I certainly didn't cut it in an effort to grow up.

Tastes change.

I started hating the upkeep. Had to braid it before bed or it'd be an impossible knot in the morning, had to use tons of shampoo and conditioner, etc.

I did donate it to Locks of Love though.

I'm glad you didn't do it as some growing up statement. Do you find that with more unusual hair people take you less seriously? It seems to be the way.

I originally shaved mine in a fit of temper and then decided I was better off without it because I stopped getting asked for ID for fags and beer.
I am an actual smoker these days, did you ever sucessfully quit?

Oh and on a more quiet note, we dicussed something replaced and students being cheaper for so. Did you go ahead with it? If you get what I am asking about? If you did I bet it felt well weird at first!!

I did quit smoking and I actually get complimented on my hair a lot, even from people my parents age. And yes, the lip ring is real too. I occasionally get looked at funny for it, but mostly people don't care.

Locks of Love is an organization that makes wigs out of human hair for kids with cancer/on chemotherapy and have lost their hair..

And yes, I got replacements, took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about. ^_^

Though it actually took a family member dying for that to happen.

You hear about it happening in movies, but don't expect it to happen to you. I get a letter in the mail, right, saying I'm one of three beneficiaries to a life insurance policy for a woman I've never even heard of. I had to ask my parents if they'd heard of her to make sure it wasn't a mistake. Come to find out she was my dad's God-mum.

It was only four thousand dollars, but it was enough to get that replaced. And it just happened a few months ago. I literally got the replacements just shy of the five year anniversary of my losing them. I didn't go the student route, though, because I didn't feel like sitting on a waiting list for months.

Cool about the hair, all I got for blue or green was "michael, are you ever planning to grow up?/shave that?/ wash that?/do somthing new?"

We have nothing like that in the UK. I am however doing a 10km run with a group for charity next month, AIDS rather than cancer though. It's going to be murder! I have never liked running at daytime, I always go at night for my run.

Do you like them? They must make a hell of a difference, did they hurt at first? I have heard they hurt like hell for weeks. I don't blame you for not wanting to wait, why bother when you don't need to?

4k? If one of my elderly relatives died with the number of kids in the family we would have to cut coins in half to share it out! lol.
I have 2 new nieces since we last spoke, my sister dropped twins last summer, Gemma and Amy. One of my younger brothers has a kid on the way but I am suspect as to which if the two it belongs to.. She was involved with them both at one point and I am sure she would have tried it on with me had I not been so dick happy.

Well that was just an insurance policy. I'm sure her actual family got whatever money she had. She was pretty well off. She didn't leave Dad one red cent, though, which says something about him. >.<

4k was more than enough to buy replacements and get a few things for myself. Got a new TV, new computer, new bed, things like that.

And they didn't really hurt much. There was some soreness, but a few adjustments later and everything was right as rain.

My brother's been dating a girl for just a little longer than I've been re-dating Nathan. She's a little younger than me (seriously, her birthday is in October and mine in August, both of us born in 1983 and as you'll recall my brother is four years younger than me) and I'm pretty sure they're going to get married in the near-ish future. No kids, yet, but I imagine it's just a matter of time.

I've got the whole lot, yeah. They're not permanent fixtures, 4k wouldn't have even covered getting me four of the permanent sort, so removable it is, but they work well and look like the real thing. For 1600 they SHOULD.
