What brushes do you use for your quick sketches? They look great!Β

I usually switch it up and try new ones. Greg Rutkwoski and Jaime Jones have some really cool ones that I use a lot. Eventually, it comes down to you trying them out and selecting the ones you like.

I really like your painting style - its rough but at the same time very detailed. I have a question: im looking to get into digital painting, how did/do you practice? I guess copying/studying photos and artworks?

kristmiha In reply to senseipaulo [2015-03-26 18:02:30 +0000 UTC]
Thank you!
First and foremost, don't be afraid to dive into it, prepare for lots of work which initially won't be even close to what you have imagined.
Studying as much as possible is the only way. I mostly study by copying and adding a bit of my own things to experiment a bit, but there are other ways you can study too. Also, find master paintings you like and copy them.
One really important thing is to try to learn from pros so you can use the short way to the top. Find who you like, learn how he does it and do it. Fortunately, there are tons of tutorials of pros online nowadays. Personally, when I was getting into it I was heavily influenced from Shaddy Safadi and Eytan Zana. I still admire their work, but I'm always trying to learn new things from other artists too.
So yeah, practice, research, learn, copy and practice even more. You can hit me up with PMs whenever you want for anything you want. I'd be glad to help.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
I will dive right into doing some stuff digitally, you motivated me even more to do so! I will start with some simple studies and practice on a regular basis. I'll PM you if i ever need something, really appreciate the offer.
...and seeing your deviantArt info, today is your birthday no? Correct my if its wrong but Happy Birthday!
