Can you please fill me in on what happened?

Cher (lemgrass) and I were friends - we sent each other notes here on deviant Art - did she pass away?

I've not heard from her in a long time.

My dearest friend, my cyber-mother, the awesome person who'd call me "Cupcake" is no longer with us. Cher was one of my closest friends, and there's one thing I know for sure; even though she's not with us anymore in physical form, I know she'll never leave me. 
When I first met Cher, lemgras330, we had an instant connection. We had barely exchanged five messages when she first called me her cyber-daughter, and another five for her to become the mother I'd never had. She was happy in that role, too. Her kindness, love and positive attitude have really helped shape me over the years. 
That's what makes writing this journal to bring you this messages even more difficult. Very few knew this, she was very private, but in August 2018, Cher was diagnosed with a terrible illness. Cancer. She did not want me to tell anyone, because she was determined

Yuukon, I was friends with Cher (Lemgrass) on DA for a few years - we'd send each other notes on here.

Was Cher sick?

I am so very sorry for your loss. 

I didn't even realize that Cher was sick; I noticed I had not heard from her in quite some time and was sending her a note via deviantArt today when I found out.

Your mother was such a warm, considerate, and thoughtful person - and a talented artist, as well. I will miss her friendship.

Thank you for sharing with us those kind words. I hope you won't mind if I repost this comment of yours in the hommage feature I'm doing for her.
Your mother was a very kind and good-hearted soul. She put friends and their troubles before time itself, and it meant the whole to all of us to have such a compassionate being. May I ask when exactly she died, and how old was she? (and perhaps of what she died? Her friend Ann said of cancer...)
