over the years i was very fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from some very good instructors. even after my art education ended i continued to study and practice.

some very important things to always keep in mind are-
-build a good simple understanding of the basics (structure, proportion, perspective, anatomy)
-learn how to break down any form into basic shapes (keep it geometric, keep it simple)
-learn to draw loose (don't be afraid to draw sketchy)
-don't worry if a drawing doesn't come as you'd hoped (it's all just practice)

and i'm very flattered you enjoy my Batman art.
it's helpful to study a good variety of other artists and pick and chose the traits that you enjoy from each.

as much as i have always enjoyed comic style art, i blend what i've picked up from classical artists into my comic art and vice versa.

Yeah, that's what I try to do, it's a fun way of developing my "own" style, sorta, because there's a lot of great Batman artists, and I can see the classical influence in all of your work, not only Batman's, that's pretty amazing I have to say.

I'm pretty sure you won't remember, but I've known DeviantArt for a few years, and I made an account back then, and, I had the opportunity to ask you if I could do a rendition of your work (myconius.deviantart.com/art/Ba… ), which you said yes, it was a long time ago, I don't even remember my username, but can I reupload it if I find it again? It was one of the best pieces I've drawn since I started this journey, honestly, because my skills at that time were nonexistant hahahaha.

glad you've enjoyed the studies, as dorky as it sounds i find them incredibly fun to draw.
well it's always great to see you drawing your dragons.
but just remember if you're limited in your own time for personal creativity, you can always squeeze in a few sketches in the pad.
you can do smaller studies that'll lead up to doing the larger intended piece.

They look amazing and are always cool to see! Makes me feel like  should be doing more studies for practice, i kind fo let some of my life drawing practice and such fall by the wayside beneath all my uni studies! so trying to pick up some speed with them again haha

Yeah very true! I always try to keep my little notebook on me to try cram some kind of meaningful, or crappy doodle in there xD
