Alright dude
Sorry for the tardy reply, been really busy and offline.
With the 2 layer thing, what I do is:
1) take the image into photoshop
2) greyscale and an adjustment layer (which creates another layer ontop of the original) of posterisation colours 2
3) After the above, i then retouch the first greyscale layer to add more shadows and highlights, more definition until i am happy with the result. Otherwise you just get a bit of a crappy 2 layer version, would defo recommend the retouching, i use dodge and nurn tools. It emphasizes the shadows and the highlights.
