OOOOOoooh. NOW that other comment makes sense. hahaha.

Of course I stuck by you. Once I really got back in the swing of things, I sought out the artists that were mad cool. Obviously you were definitely one of them.

That and I've always dug your art style.
Did you miss me? lol

i saw! i'm sorry i missed it by like, two weeks. XD

it made me happy to see someone in this arena who actually cares. i'm more of a silent lurker on PLOA since people haven't been responding to my art who didn't already know me.

Nice artwork here. A little too dark for my tastes though, but good none the less.

Well, wanted to make mention, seen as you looked through my gallery, I looked through yours. Once again, thanks for the fav.

it's always interesting to see people's reaction to yuor work as a whole. i gotta admit, i was surprised by "dark."

but it goes to show that no matter how my material appears to me in my head-- a little classical, some post-modern mundane for good measure, sometimes campy and hilarious, luvvy-duvvy, downright smutty, and a little hip (so i aim for it to be,) the epic angst and violence seem to be a point of interest for me that dominate the visual work. but i swear! it isn't Underworld NOR WAS IT at all influenced by NIN! XD

thank you for dropping by. i'm glad you took the time.

Dark wasn't meaning evil. Just a theme that I don't overly like is all. Some pieces were funny, like the 3 iron one. Feel bad for that guy though. I wonder if the person on the bike at least shouted "four" before the balls wen flying...
[link]

I just noticed a lot of alcohol or smoking involved in your art, things that people normally do but things I don't promote.I also noticed a bit of... language in your descriptions. I have kids who look at my account, and don't wish to expose them to it, although they probably already have been.

Not all your pieces are dark, but many have this dark atmosphere to them. The gloomy background. The shadows casting over everything. This isn't to say that your WHOLE gallery is like that, just what I seem to see of it really, the pieces that catch my attention.

Its all still good, so keep on drawing.

i just love rich lighting and playing with shadow. and the purple-to yellow spectrum; sunsets, evenings, etc. and i do smoke and drink so that doesn't seem dark to me at all i guess. just a part of life. i manage without crashing cars or hurting people i care about.

it's weird; we're really a case of two completely different walks is what it seems to be. it's refreshing to meet someone who doesn't consider my stuff "lite" because there aren't any dying animals or skeleton-demons or that gay-rape-incest i was talking about. XD

Don't forget about the glowing eyes... you tend to do that allot...
Glowy eyes sends messages of EVIL intent! MAHAHAHA! Mostly joking, but it does to some extent, in a hidden fashion. Not saying it does with your art, just wanted to mention it.

Your stuff is good, but as I said, some of the content is stuff that just doesn't interest me. I get a slight dark feeling (not evil, not perverted, just something dark and hidden) from your art. Can't really place my finger on it though. Might be the art style itself.
You do have some funny pieces, but they usually rely on a more adult humor? Not sure there either.

Following different walks of life doesn't mean anything. I probably don't support smoking because I have asmia (Can't spell. Basically my lungs don't like smoke and other things. Sends me into coughing fits. Can sometimes take my breath away too.)... anyone smoking near me sends me into coughing fits. I don't care if they smoke, I just don't support it and stay away is all.

glowing eyes aren't evil! certainly not. the characters with the colored/glowing eyes in LOA are simply shapeshifters; their human bodies are illusions for what animal they really are. like any sentient creature, there are of course good ones and evil ones. or else, it wouldn't be much of a story!

but it is true. i have grown into the things good and bad that i represent with my art, and feel comfortable with them as a part of the world on top of part of my lifestyle and habit. that's pretty much all i meant. it's not for everyone. but i can't stress enough that it's refreshing to find people who still consider some things shocking and aren't desensitized to the content. those people end up demanding too much and can't appreciate even the slightest transgression for interesting, or even bad when intended (for instance i've been told one of my villains was too "soft" by someone who drew blood and sadness in every picture)

Tesunie In reply to proyecto-LOA [2009-04-05 03:51:16 +0000 UTC]

People see glowing eyes as a sign of evil or power, though it isn't always the case. I was mostly joking there. If that was the case, almost every pet in existence would be evil (though some can make you think so). Being shape shifters does explain the glowy eyes though.

Dark doesn't always mean evil for the record. Dark also doesn't always result in perverted... as most people would probably foolishly think so.

As far as art goes, it really is usually an outlet for your emotions. For me, I enjoy drawing and I'm just a rather happy go lucky kinda guy. I feel that my art is usually all bright and cheery, that leads people to feel a little happier when they see it.
I know someone else who's art is their conduit to release pressure and pent up emotions. They usually draw things that are more gloomy, as it makes them feel better to get the sadness out than to keep it in.

Your art is more... real world like? You just don't hold anything back from it. If something happens in the real world, you seem to add it in. IE: The drinking and smoking. You see it all the time, so you think nothing of it to have a character or six doing it as well. The 3-iron picture. People pull stuff like that (and in art is was rather funny, in life not so much), and you drew it well.

As far as art, we use it in different ways, as we are different people. WE also lead different roads in life, so our art reflects that as well. Nothing wrong with that.

(If it helps any, I can't be very 'evil' myself, so I tend to make evil guys that aren't so evil. Or if they are, no one sees it as they work behind the scenes of things.)

hahah; that's how my villains work. i have a megalo-guy and a kind of mobster guy in particular who are decidedly "evil" and not just "make what you want of them." since i don't know much about ruling the world or the inner workings of the mafia (never was big into the movies/culture,) they come across very "mysterious" and only make infrequent appearances, like they're always off doing something important to their nefarious cause that i don't drudge to describe. XD

Tesunie In reply to proyecto-LOA [2009-04-06 13:31:41 +0000 UTC]

You have what I call 'smart' villains. They wont just walk up to the heroes and try to kill them. Instead, they will stay in the background, secretly hindering the heroes, sending agents and henchmen their way. If a hero is captured, then the villain might appear and torture the character.

I've even had a 'villain' come into a story whose goal was to make someone stronger. He wasn't really much of a villain, but he wanted to fight this one person at their best, so they would help and challenge the hero.

Not all heroes need to be blood thirsty, necro type, supper strong bad guys. A highly intelligent, well planed and methodical, use their wits and brains villain can have so many more rewards. They also can be evil in a more grand scale. Try like, global evil. They have a hold onto everything. There would be no hiding place from them. Then they can act all 'my hands are clean' afterwards.

(Then again, I tend to play smart heroes in my role plays, and create very intelligent people for my characters. They can be clueless, but they still are usually rather smart. If not book smart, then street smart. I think Kiro was my 'dumbest' character I have created. He isn't very smart with books, but get him into a sport and he will win. In a fight, and he'd give you a run for your money, if not out right beat you.)
