Hia. Long time since we last talked.
And I know I probably asked this before, but back during "Season 4: No Home For Heroes" why did you hate The Avenger so much?

He felt empty to be very honest. Empty and confusing.

Yeah, I heard something similar from my co-author post season 4.
His storyline was a bit confusing in the end and apparently, his morality and goals were apparently too vague to be completely understandable.Β
My co-author called his V2 self a diamond in the rough, concept and character wise. At least according to him.Β
I am nowadays all for fine-tuning his character when Series 4 eventually enters production.Β

Thank you.
Considering that I am going to be finishing the 2nd chapter of the 2nd episode this week, it is safe to say that Series 4: No Home For Heroes are still ways away.
But that only gives me more time to think and work on one of my favorite characters to write for.
The Avenger mostly just needs some tweaks and refinements to become one of my best characters.

Now that it is out and you have read it,I can finally reveal that I was planning for Hayir to leave The Allies of Justice,Season 4 and resume his more villainous activities at the end of the volume after his fight The Avenger. But I was planning for him to leave in disappointment, not on good terms with the guy.Β
I was planning for them to fight because of their differences, despite their rather small similairties. I wasn't planning for them to strike commen ground and be able to look past their differences because of their small smiliarities.
I was planning on Hayir calling The Avenger out on his hypocrisies and missigvings. I wasn't planning on having Hayir basically egg The Avenger on and set him straight about being a world ender.Β
I was planning for The Avenger's already frail mind to shatter and break even further because of his defeat at the hands of Hayir. I wasn't planning on having The Avenger get his mind set in the direction he was already going and being encouraged and pushed further into the darkness by Hayir.Β
Sure,it helps establish Hayir as a villain, but still,I just felt that it wasn't what you wanted or expected out of that fight. It certaintly wasn't what I expected, but the dialouge just ran away from me until I saw no reason for them to continue fighting when Hayir was not only getting onto The Avenger's dark side, but also his own.
I was afraid that because he ultimately made a character that you already hate even WORSE that I had betrayed your character, only because I have a slightly different and varid interpritation of him.Β
But apperantly that isn't the case. Right?

I was afraid of that.Β
Take me through the list. And explain your own thoughts on how things went.Β
Yet you still faved both parts........I am obviously missing something.Β

rabbit-chainsaw In reply to RobinLightwalker [2016-06-10 20:06:32 +0000 UTC]
I faved them because they were well made.
What was wrong is that they struck common ground even though their motivations are ENTIRELY different.
Hayir doesnt destroy everything unless he isnt happy and knows what everything to destroy.
Avenger is just destroying everything.
Hayir ends shit.
Avenger starts shit and wallows in it.
π: 0 β©: 1
RobinLightwalker In reply to rabbit-chainsaw [2016-06-10 20:16:00 +0000 UTC]
As I said at length,I was just as supriced as you that they actually did strike commen ground, even if it is probably the smallest sliver of ground imaginable (They like destroying things and don't like the world very much). I was genuinly supriced when the dialouge went in the complete opposite direction then I intended. The characters ran away with the plot and the dialouge and somehow, they just CLICKED,even thou they have almost every single reason to fight one another, sure, they did,but still, they found something in commen.Β
There's some kind of beauty in it all,but I wasn't expecting to find any beauty in a war torn landscape,or apon a barren and scarred world.Β
But I can tell you that I loved writting Hayir's "To watch the fireworks" line.Β
It all could happen,it shouldn't have, the possibilities were just to damn small for their similairities to come up with just the right sort of light for them to connect, rather then to repel one another even further.
I fully intended to have Hayir stab The Avenger through the head and burn his face off as Hayir told him that he was disappointed in him and expected more from him and then pull out the sword out of his skull as The Words of Exodus healed The Avenger as Hayir left,The Avenger letting out a scream of pure, unrivaled fury into the pitch black clouds above, thunder rumbling above the smoking ruins.
THAT's how I intended to end the fight, but somehow,it never came to that. Instead,The Avenger reminded Hayir that he's a destroyer and Hayir reinforced The Avenger's beliefs and even strenghtend his motives and even cleared them up for him. He diselusioned The Avenger of his delusions of who he truly was and is and instead made it clear who and what he truly is. A destroyer just like him.Β
And if The Avenger fails,Hayir saw something within The Avenger that reminded him of why he destroyed his own world.

Yes hate and anger.
I think.. Some part of you wanted them to have common ground.
π: 0 β©: 1
RobinLightwalker In reply to rabbit-chainsaw [2016-06-10 20:40:53 +0000 UTC]
Maybe. But even you said that they have the ittiest of common ground and somehow, that lead to my mind latching onto that idea like a lifeboat, rather then going with the original idea of hatred and disgust of one another.
Sure,The Avenger's bigotry was brought up,but it wasn't part of the fight in a very big way, other then some snark on Hayir's end and some raving and ranting on The Avenger's end.Β
Still, the end result was still the same. Hayir left with plans for planetary destruction later down the line and The Avenger came out of the fight even darker then before. That was the end goal I had in mind and that was still what I got.........But not from the original road. Weird.Β
Still, none of us expected that to happen.
This season is getting so unpredictable that even I can't predict it properly anymore.Β

Hayir VS THe Avenger THIS WEEK!!!
What should he say to him? What will he say to him? And what will he say to him WITHOUT killing him? What can Hayir say to fuel The Avenger's growing hatred?
π: 0 β©: 1
rabbit-chainsaw In reply to RobinLightwalker [2016-06-08 18:40:41 +0000 UTC]
Hayir doesnt instigate. Its probably very evident to the Avenger that hayir would care about him... If there was anything left to care about.
So many people said things to attempt to change the Avenger's mind. He wont even listen to his brother, the one that loves him and probably the only one left that does.
Hayir sees this as putting down a mad dog and cutting the stomach open to examine the contents of whats left.
There is no reason to hold back. Only reason Hayir will stop is if the Avenger cant move to fight.
π: 0 β©: 1
RobinLightwalker In reply to rabbit-chainsaw [2016-06-08 18:45:34 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm.......That's alot to think about.Β
Now I'm concerned that the way I built it all up for Hayir VS The Avenger can come off as out of character for Hayir. But that is up for you to decide on Friday.
For now I can tell you this: Hayir isn't planning on holding much back. He is planning to match The Avenger step by step before going one step beyond whatever level it is that The Avenger releases.
So Hayir won't fight him anymore when The Avenger can no longer fight? Even if you also said that he thought of him as a mad dog.Β
Would it be OOC to compare himself to The Avenger? Apaha was a man who became a man of anger and destruction through the destruction of his homeworld, while Hayir is someone who destroyed his own home world.Β
π: 0 β©: 1
rabbit-chainsaw In reply to RobinLightwalker [2016-06-08 18:58:18 +0000 UTC]
Yes it would be OOC Because the emotions are entirely diffrent.
Hayir's anger pain and hate caused him to make his entire planet a barren moon. There was only solitude happiness and relief afterwards.
I could easily imagine the only reason Hayir is even fighting in this stint because it threatens his happiness.
Hayir had no shame in destroying his own home single handedly.
Apaha is like this because others destroyed his home.
Its similar but it makes barely any sense. They are entirely opposite ends of the spectrum
π: 0 β©: 1
RobinLightwalker In reply to rabbit-chainsaw [2016-06-08 19:19:03 +0000 UTC]
Okay, then I won't have him point out their similairities and differences. Thank you for saving me from that pitfall.Β
And yeah, even if Hayir would never and probably will never admit it,he enjoys being part of The Allies of Jusitice and friend with Robin and his pals. Sure, they drive him up the wall, but that's friends for you. And family. And The Allies of Justice are more to his liking then his first family.Β
I won't spoil anything about Breaking Down The Walls, but that motivation still works.
Hayir might get a good fight out of The Avenger, but I'm not sure if he would be disappointed by him in the end.
π: 0 β©: 1
rabbit-chainsaw In reply to RobinLightwalker [2016-06-08 19:29:32 +0000 UTC]
The only dissapointment he'll have is the fact he has to fight someone so blind deaf and weak.
Someone that isnt aware nore willing to listen to the love that is left for them for they are so far consumed by hate.
Hayir was consumed by hate because he was fed it until he exploded and destroyed everything in his path.
Hayir wants to protect his own happiness, hes angry inherently at everyone cause its everybody's fault. But hes striking at the ones that threaten his happiness more.

RobinLightwalker In reply to rabbit-chainsaw [2016-06-08 19:34:28 +0000 UTC]
Okay. You have given me ALOT to think about.Β
And yeeeeeesh,The Avenger is going to blow his top if he gets called all that by Hayir. Apaha/Avenger isn't that happy about insults and as we have seen,he is quite proud, both of himself and his people.Β
He might even break the last taboo of The Words of Terminus if Hayir eggs him on (and if I extend the fight to mutliple episodes).
And the way you're putting it all into clairity, damn, they are both quite tragic characters.

rabbit-chainsaw In reply to RobinLightwalker [2016-06-08 19:40:19 +0000 UTC]
Difference is Hayir wants to move on and not wallow in his pain and pity like a pig in a mud pit.
Hayir doesnt need his eyes to look toward the future.
Apaha is so bent on looking at the past that hes blind to it

Good idea. The battle is going to be stretched out pretty far,but there will be several phases off the attack as there are multiple opponents for the allies to face and take down, not atleast The Swindler.
He he,I like the irony in that, because even thou Robin dosen't know who he really is (thou some does,Craig and Castor in particular),they all know that Hayir is a being of immense strength,so him taking care of what is essentially thugs/terrorists,will be an interesting contrast to him battling Zaigon back in Season 3.
