Maybe it's just a dosage thing?  Like, alcoholic beverages, in moderate quantities, aren't too bad (well...talking about humans here ), but too much, and...well, you know of alcohol poisoning, I assume?  Maybe it's sorta like that for them.

I doubt it. Especially given how old some of those posts probably are. Some of what I've written on this thing are over a decade old, and a lot has happened since then. Some people that I was going to have to fight awhile back, I'm now not really going to have anything to do with in the coming battles, and vice versa. My fate's actually kind of changed pantheons if that makes sense. Who do you follow, if you don't mind my asking?

Well...Astaroth.  Specifically because I see him/her as an avatar of some sort for my main patron deity, Ishtar.  I saw a post you made long ago on 's rendition of her based off your experiences, and that got me curious/worried.

(Oh, I'm not sure how correct I am about that "avatar" bit, but that's the impression I always got of that being.  The game Catherine has it like that, for instance)

Ah yeah. That stuff with Astaroth happened so long ago, and I'll tell you something; I'm not 100% sure that was even her anymore. It may have been, but that girl was completely unhinged and I suspect she may have been an imposter from accounts I've heard about Astaroth from others since. As such, I'm cautious about her just in case the one I knew was her, but at any rate I'm counting on a "don't fuck with me, I won't fuck with you" relationship with her. Hell's a big place and I don't plan on seeking her out, and I don't see why that wouldn't be mutual.

Yeah, even though it's debated I agree with you that Astaroth and Ishtar are one in the same. There are quite a few angels and demons that are recognized across cultures. 

She was never a target for me though. My previous fate at the time I knew her lay with the Norse in Ragnarok, but that's not even the case anymore. Now I'm tied up with the Egyptians. Long as you're not with Apep/Apophis, we're good far as I'm concerned. I looked at your page to try to figure out who you followed and didn't see anything, but did find we seem to share quite a few interests. Apparently Atlus and SMT fall in there as well.

Okay, now you've got me curious: when you say the Astaroth you dealt with was "completely unhinged", do you mean like "black widow" or "threatening zombie apocalypse" crazy or...something more?

As far as my beliefs go, let's just say I'm quickest to revere anyone and anything whose domain is sex, knowledge, or a combination of the two.  I feel the greatest connection to Lady Ishtar (mostly because I see her as a role model; you can probably get that idea by how much of my favorites list is sexy, dangerous women), but any deity who personifies one or both of those things is a deity I favor.  So...in short, as long as Apep has nothing to do with those, I have nothing to do with them.  And I'm pretty sure he doesn't (but...I don't know for sure !)

(inb4 "He does".  But, even if so, we could be friendly rivals or something like that, since we do have a fair bit in common)

Lol, no, far as I know about Apophis, he's just all about chaos and destruction. Hathor would be the Egyptian equivalent of your type, and while I don't really know her personally, I'm pretty sure she's on our side. I'm on the side of Ra now, and his allies.

And unhinged as in she went from being my friend, to wanting me, to being jealous of all of my female friends and even my sisters, to threatening me and my whole circle of friends over that jealousy in rapid succession. I don't know if that was really her now, because from accounts I've heard from people that know her, the real Astaroth is not batshit crazy.

Yeah, I have a torn opinion of them. On one hand, most take the form of beautiful women to seduce prey, and I like that. On the other hand, I really, really hate spiders. And knowing how I was in my past life, it's probably a suppressed memory of an encounter with one of them that's responsible for it.

Before I tell you, I feel I should point out that when it came to the anthropovorous tendencies exhibited by her species, she had a preference for serial killers, higher-tier murderers, rapists, pedophiles, child molesters, sex offenders in general, & other criminals whose crime of choice meant they had it coming. There was this guy who was stealing from museums & doing sadistic things to witnesses. As it happened, that guy was a dead ringer for me. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, my then-eventual girlfriend would go on walks in hyperspace route systems. It turned out that hyperspace route systems can be used as physical portals into mindscapes. It helps that she's a telepath. She often used this to track criminals she was searching for. The thing is, being a magnet for supernatural phenomena since the day I started junior high school has left me immune to metaphysical hazards of an even partially psychological &/or spiritual nature. The resulting psychic static while she passed my mindscape caused her to lose the scent of her target. The fact that I looked exactly like her target caused her to wing it. Fortunately, I was able to prove she had the wrong guy by showing her a bruise I had on my arm just in time. We hung out in the mindscape every day for 2 weeks after that. Our 1st meeting in the waking world was on the day me & her started college.

We pretty much hit it off after that. A lot of the college friends I maintained a "friend" level of interaction with after leaving college (don't ask) were somehow connected to her at the time I was introduced to them.

Well you're doing better than me on that. I don't know any of my college friends anymore, period. There are a few I wish I could get back in touch with but god knows what their last names are now. Glad you could find someone interesting like that though. It's the unique people that make social interaction worth it.

The circumstances of our breakup are an embarrassing story. On a weirder note, you know how some people wielded dual pistols? My ex would wield dual Gatlings. She could even spin them old-West style (if you've ever seen cowboy movies, you'd know what I'm talking about. If not, here's some clarification: multi-shot pistols of that era were what is called "Single Action": basically, you have to cock them after every shot. The way the ignition mechanism was designed often caused residue to build up in the cock-chamber. Hanging it off the user's index finger by the trigger while spinning it around the trigger was a common way of dislodging the residue after firing.).

Wow, it's been an interesting summer. I'd honestly not planned to survive it, but I met a local girl who's changed my mind, and given me hope and a strong desire to live and live healthier. She has caused some drama with my other mates though... which I hope can be resolved, because she really is good for me. She's healing my spirit beyond what I thought could be done.

As for movies, I saw Angels and Demons, Night at the Museum 2, and Transformers 2. The latter was my favorite I must say. Damn awesome. Planning on seeing Half-blood Prince very soon, possibly tomorrow.

Yeah, I've got several projects in the works. I've got a drawing of me and Aurora, and one of the Egyptian goddess Serket, that I've got to work on and finish, but are already started. As well as one of the Cullen "kids" from Twilight. I also want to do some drawings of Raven and Jordan (the girl I spoke of above), my wolf form, and Brandon's future demon form.

Also saw the new Star Wars and Wolverine, both of which I thought were good. But yeah, I did actually like the second Night at the Museum better. The plot is that the old museum goes more modern and the exhibits that Ben made friends with in the first get moved into storage under the Smithsonian. And the egyptian relief that brings them life gets moved there with them. The egyptian guy's brother is in the Smithsonian and gets revived, but he's evil and is trying to figure out a way to use the artifact to bring armies from the underworld to take over the world. New characters are cool, especially Amelia Earhart. I don't know the actress's name that plays her but she was great.
