You're welcome, and thanks for the llama.Β It's funny, when I first joined dA I was completely baffled by this giving of llamas, and now I covet them ... so strange!

I know! Why llama's anyway? It just sounds completely random.

I would like prints for myself, but I also have access to a very small exhibition space, and I was thinking of putting up matted and framed prints from artists and photographers whoβve contributed to CosmicRoots.Β I may post a whole journal about it, to see how many people might be interested, and if anyone had any comments or suggestions.Β What do you think?

Odilicious In reply to reedymanedkelpie [2013-08-12 07:56:36 +0000 UTC]
So, how do you want to manage this exhibition?Β
Do you want to buy the prints here then exibit ?Β
Do you plan to re-sell the prints?
Where and when would it take place?
So many practical questions, you see..

You're right about asking practical questions -Β I think the general idea is good, but I have to make sure the details work out well for everyone involved.Β I have access to a very small exhibition space; the space is on Long Island, in New York State, USA.Β The exhibit would be ongoing for as long as it seems to work.Β A small percentage of the selling price would go to the owner of the space, and some percentage to me (I haven't figured out exact amounts yet, and they may change depending on potential buyers' responses).Β
I was considering buying prints, matting and framing them (pre-framed is too expensive), displaying them along with a bio or business card from the creator of each particular work along with their dA account address, and offering the pieces for sale.Β Or artists could send their work on consignment if they preferred, which would be better for me but I'm not sure how to make it benefit the artist, unless they wanted a larger size exhibited (I was only thinking of the smaller sizes to start with), or if they wanted to try selling it for a higher price than I think would work .Β Artists and photographers would get exposure and some actual money.Β
If this succeeds, in the long run I would try to move to a whole gallery, where I could also sell some original works.Β
I may post a whole journal about it on my group site, to see how many people might be interested, and if anyone had any comments or suggestions.Β
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

You're very welcome. I think you have your own style, and your paintings are shining images of reality, not physical reality, but like myths and soul perceptions and other levels of being.

my best advice on "getting to work" is to read a TON. I don't know if you write poetry, but if you do, go online to Poem Hunter and just read, read. I can recommend some amazing modern slam poets and such as well. Just say the word I've also got two books of my own poetry available at this point.
