# About me
I am the author of three books about digital photography. My latest book, Experimental Digital Photography (Lark Books/Sterling Publishing, New York/London, 2010), is a book that explores experimental photographic (and not software) techniques with the digital camera. I am particularly interested in subject movement, camera movement and the combination of the two using long exposures usually at night -- often resulting in motion blur and light painting effects. I believe that more than just interesting techniques, they can create photographs of space-time -- as an exposure is a combination of images of objects via the lens, over time via the shutter, a combination of space and time. And these photographs can reveal a quite different reality from the normal sharp photo.
I have been practicing photography for forty years and digital photography for the last fourteen years. I have a Masters Degree in Media (UNC-Chapel Hill, 1974). I am the author of three books on digital photography. In the last two years I was interviewed by National Public Radio about my experimental work, my photos and essays were presented to the Generative Art Conference in Milan, Italy and my photos were featured in a show at the University of Art in Bucharest Romania.
