yeah i've been going through a serious art block lately... like there's nothing i'm even proud enough to post at all.
as soon as i get my scanner working though i can post the stuff in my sketch book, but until then i don't want to just post a crappy photo of my work ya know

Sort of the same way here. I have things I'd like to upload, but the scanner isn't within the best reach.
I have a drawing tablet, but it's wonky. I'd rather practice without it.
So all I've had are these little doodles/practice works on my page. It's been like this forever.

yeah i get where you're coming from. i have a tablet as well... but i'm challenged with it... i'll probably get back to digital stuff when i get my new tablet in a couple of months.
that way i'll have photoshop... with that i can take my drawings and make the lines black so i don't completely murder the original

I pirated Photoshop CS5, but I can't really paint with it. I need to learn to render digital works.
But digital art is on hold for now. For the time being, all I use is a pencil, a sketchbook, and andrew loomis. [link]
Learning human figure and such is my main focus. That and I can't stop drawing homestuck nonsense.

How I started, I just copied down a diagram that had to do with getting proportions right.
That and a bunch of gesture drawing set me in the right direction.
Sooner or later, I should start studying bones and muscles.
