Here's a fun historical figure I learned about today that you might enjoy:
You know King Louis XIV of France? The Sun King? The guy who built the giant palace of Versailles and was basically a big deal in his time?
Turns out that he had a brother named Philippe I, Duc d'Orleans who was pretty openly bisexual. He still got married and had kids, but he had a lot of male lovers and was pretty well known for dressing like a lady whenever the mood struck him. His first wife, Henrietta, had serious issues with his major lover, Chevalier de Lorraine and actually had him banished after he went around bragging that he could get Philippe to divorce her. His second wife (after the first died) was more agreeable and just let him do what he wanted after they'd had a few kids. Although apparently it annoyed her that he sometimes stole her clothes for himself or whoever his lover du jour was.
Also, he fought in various battles for king and country and had a reputation as a decent military leader too.
