hey I read your forum post on dA's color profile problems when having the site resize your images.. did you find any workaround? I'm in color profile hell right now and trying to find a workflow that will work for both dA and facebook. nothing seems to work for both sites

Every few months I try to test out DA again to see if they've added support, and no they keep stripping the embedded profiles and don't convert anything to sRGB. No color profile support at all. I still export converted versions specifically for DA, that are sRGB. (I create an export preset in Lightroom tailored to each site settings that I need.)

With that said, I did test out my iPhone/iPad for color profile support, and Safari/Webkit for iOS does not support color profiles either as far as I could tell. So even if DA did support color profiles, there is still no support for a massive mobile web viewing audience, and headache's would still exist. (I've never heard of sRGB-fallback-conversions-on-the-fly for non-colorprofile-supported web browsers, so perhaps there is good reason why support has not been widely adopted yet with photo sites?)

Another major gripe of mine is that I wish DA would auto-fill submission info based on images' embedded metadata. Like keyword tags for example. I add them to Lightroom, and I know they export with images, but DA doesn't read them.

I think I saw news of a new submission redesign recently but I've not uploaded anything in a while to test either issue out yet.

ugh what a pain. the price to pay for having the best job on earth.. ;D

thanks for the info. and yeah the metadata/tag feature would be really cool. I don't use much metadata besides copyright info, but I'm sure you're not the only one who would love to see that.

the new submission redesign doesn't have many new features, more just cosmetic changes. but the addition of selling premium content (like higher res images) or scheduling deviation submissions is pretty sweet. extra time and extra income.
