Hey I see that Sketchy reviews is down, =( (Sad) I had a couple questions I was thinking of posing to you, regarding the ins and outs of comic art commission. Is there a resource for how to get the best work, what to expect and how best to understand the artist whos work we love?

There really isn't a resource that's a one-stop shop, Jeardawg, which is unfortunate considering the consistent rise in both popularity and prices of commissions.

Your best bet is to always research your favorite artists to find the best way to approach them. Some insist on going through an art rep, while others give a great discount if you pre-commission a piece before a convention.

One resource that I do like to look over is this forum: www.statueforum.com/forumdispl…

There, they usually can answer any question you may have about any artist, and you can typically find comments and experiences about dealings in terms of commissions.

There are some really great artists out there who do wonderful commission work, and then there are some artists out there who simply scam you, or do work that isn't worth what you paid for. Obviously, the latter are the worst.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to drop me a message. I stop by DA every few days or so, but I'll get back to you as soon as I see it.
