Hi Felix my name is Casper P. Brenneche.
Near the end of 2015, when I was still a new young posters artist, I made a Dying Light fan poster and copy pasted the jumping man from your Dying Light poster onto mine and didn't think of crediting you in it.
Anyway I feel really bad about it now and want toΒ apologize to you, as well as inform you that I have properly credited you as well as linked to your DeviantArt and website.

hey i started a diploma of graphic design this year, learnt how to use illustrator and decided I'd make a Skyrim poster its on my deviant art for reference(a mate put it on Imgur and it hit 1,000,000 views over night) but a few months later i showed my drawing teacher and shes going on about it being plagiarism and everyone here has 2 strikes then youre out.
I then had all my other lecturers approach me saying i need to not do that again, like they brought it up in their meeting or something.... how is that you can sell your prints? but i'll lose a strike if i submit mine for a vector final for illustrator.. did you get special permission? I'm curious for my own reference. the lecturers say i cant even use it in my portfolio because I've just traced images that aren't mine, they want to see images that are 100% mine and from my brain.

From the sounds of it, Its probably because you created it FOR your graphic design diploma. They disapprove probably because the course requires you to have 100% completely owned workings and don't want any bad reputation when work is made with existing images.
I dno, what to say man, this class sounds ridiculously strict. I mean 2 strikes and you get kicked out!?? You didn't make it for fan art, you made it for your class, which I suposse is expected to be 100% yours.

yeah man does sound strict but i think its because we are becoming the next generation of graphic designers so they want us not to rip of others and realise how strict it is out there in the world to mess up.. do we actually need propper permission to sell this kind of stuff? or even just use it in my portfolio?Β

Wow, coming from the concept artist! Thank you man, I'm glad you like it! J!NX actually commissioned me to create a design for Evolve, which I am really proud of the outcome, but super bummed that they plan to hold onto it for god knows how long. I hope it will one day see the light of day. I'd love to show you guys.
