Wow, looking at your works makes me miss making jewellery so much...and the style, man...so different here in denmark (really dont like it!). Miss it so much my heart hurts. Love your work and *wibbledile, fantastic stuff! Look forward to seeing some more.
Where in SA are you infact? im contemplating coming back to finish my apprenticeship but i dont want to go back to nelspruit, im looking in the Cape and surrounding areas...any suggestions?

We are based in George! I guess we like being country bumbkins? But its the closest thing to city where we have enough clients to support us and yet have the "wild" on our doorsteps.
I love the bushveld up around Nelspruit! But i think its a little too much like the wild wild west up there
I do know a few ppl in CT and around, so if you do come back, we must connect!
If our plans work out well and we can create enough income through the internet, then we might have an opening for an appi, but at the moment its soo dead
The europeans have their own way and style

George...nice...nothing wrong with country bumkins. i live in a more remote area for copenhagen and im perfectly happy with that...the further away from the noise and smog the happier i am. And we have this wonderful thing called public transport here which simply rocks!
Im applying now for a BSc in a health and nutirtion, if i get into that it will be 4 years and then ill get cracking on the jewellery again. But, if all fails and i dont get accepted i think ive pretty much decided ill come back to SA and spend 6 months there and qualify...and just get on with it. I think i have more of a chance of finding a job here if i am qualified and not just a stone throw away from qualifyin..so annoying.
Will possibly be back in SA for April and May, then ill go back to my old bench and work a bit...so excited! i have over a kilo of silver and stax of awesome stones im just itching to use...i think im addicted

That sounds great!!
so you may even be here to vote
Public transport, never heard of that! we still have private/public transport, with taxis driving over people more often then people driving in taxis I guess its an "only in africa" situation? Yes if you can get your papers together, it makes life a bit easier!

Hi again. Hope you are doin well!
Ideas have been flying back and forth about what to do with my pending qualification and nonexsistent future...
Sooo, i wanted to ask if you have any contacts in the Cape area...no where specific who are willing to take me on as a final year apprentice with international training? or do have any suggestions about where i should look?
Would be so good to get back to the bench again! Keep well

Is a BRILLIANT goldsmith, very successful, try him. If that doent work we can look further! Harrold is am old employer of mine and has very high standards! If you do get in there, you will learn alot!!! It may not be possible to get in there at present! (the jewellery trade is not doing too well now!) but try as a first option!
I do know others and so does so get back to us if it doesnt work out!
PS: you are welcome to mention our names, just let him know how we know you!

Hi again!
A lot of time has gone by and many plans have changed. I am now officially going back to south africa the end of August. I have looked at that website you gave me (www.aurumdesign.co.za), i was wondering how i could say i came across his contacts in regards to mentioning your names?
I hope to have success, took some short specific courses during my time here and am now better trained in 3D drawing and setting so i hope that helps. Do you have any other contacts perhaps?
How is business going, i hope it is going steady and well!
Keep well
Megan

Hi Megan
Business is ticking over!
The contact is Harold! you can say that we met online here! and see what he says, I cant guarentee anything and obviosly cant give you more of a reference then that I have seen some of you work in photos!
Good luck with that, otherwise contact the suppliers? goldsmith and jewellery suppliers, and CPM and see what they know of?
Its a small trade and if ppl need someone they genrally will let the word go out in the trade!
Zak

Hi Zak
Thankx very much. I had a response from a women in Kalk bay who is opening a new branch, she sadly doeant need anyone on the bench but needs a manager-customer consultant (design and so on) so i'm looking into taking that job since it's about all i can come across. But i will mail Harold and ill see what G & J suppliers and them say.
Thankx again with the tips!
Megan
