I use an old Minolta STR 200, circa 1975 I think, it belonged to my dad, he sorta passed it down to me. It's an SLR, 35 mm. I use sigma and makinon lenses, and I usually shoot with Fuji ASA 200 film, sometimes Kodak or Black's 400. I shoot underexposed alot of the time, seems to give this wierd feeling to my pictures and get them processed at this grocery store, their reds are really saturated, I like how it looks.

re your sig.
when an island is totally flooded (drowned) we can see that the land is all connected under the surface of the ocean.
is that what you meant?

You got it. Sorta Gaia theory. Everything is interconnected, and we only realise it just before death.

it depends of course what you mean by interconnected - whether that has some truth or not. obviously from an atheistic perspective everyone lives in the same physical world so is interconnected there. but it goes alot deeper than that with the spiritual aspect to life.

I said Gaia theory - [link]
And also Chaos theory - [link]
Sort of to the effect of the often quoted phrase 'a butterfly flapping its wings in Tokyo could cause tornadoes in California' [link] which means that everything on earth is interconnected, all plants, animals, rocks, even the air have an effect on each other. They cannot be assessed as a single unit. The schools of Physics have been picking up on this in the last few years (since the 70s).

I'm sorry if you are offended by my beliefs.
I understand if you think Christians are hippocrites, actually I admit that I am.
but I see that you arn't interrested in what other people believe, so I'll leave that alone
anyway, besides that you seem pretty cool...
do you skate or just take pictures? There's a skate park about to open up in my town, and I'll be skating again.
I like skating on halfpipes.

After you die youz betta watch out
coz in de after life der be evil things about
in de underworld you is gunna be scarred
so ya betta read de bible so youz get prepared
thruth is, we are going to rot in the ground after we die,
you can belive anything you like about heavan, but there is nowhere, and your soul wont leave your body.
the afterlife was an idea created by man, because we cant cope with the thaught of eternal nothingness.

"We lead the lives of islands and, like them, only in death do we see the truth."
Just taking a shot.
Waves wash upon the sands of islands. And like waves, events or situations in life wash upon our lives. Constantly everyday they come and receed. Intensity can vary anywhere from low tide to hurricane waves. One day a fatal event/deadly wave will wash away the island/kill us.
When the island is submerged underwater it can view the essence of the waves, surrounded by water, completly engulfed in it and can then understand the water.
When we are met with death we will understand the purpose for every event and situation that occured in our life. And we will have no choice but to let death embrace us in the same way that the water embraces the island.
This was more just for fun than anything else =^-^=
Cheers,
-Stefanie

I knew it probably wouldn't be exact, because to ask a person to philosophize...every body's perspective is different so to get an exact answer is hard. Glad to give you something to think about ^-^
Of course, I don't really rely on my own thoughts or perception, only on the Bible. But it is fun to explore the depths of our minds.

Well before I probably would've shot myself if I thought I'd say the things I say today about God, cuz I hated God. But throught much time, deep thought, experiences and research I've come to to the realization that it must be true, because nothing else is logical.

Do you ever listen to yourself? Nothing else is logical???? The only thing that is NOT logical is to believe in an invisible old bearded white guy in the sky. That is not logical.
And why do you say that you came to realize this through "much deep thought"? Did you not just say before that you, and I quote, "don't really rely on your own thoughts or perception"????
I think you are just like any other Christian. Self contradictory, confused and ready to cling to the first shred of hope thrown your way. No individuality, no self reliance, always needing/wanting outside help because you can't deal with the real world. You're just a sheep. Follow the flock. Bahhh.

Before I was Christian I didn't have a Bible to rely on. In that case alone, I deeply thought about my own existance. Now I rely on the Bible due to my faith. No contradiction here.
And please, no streotypes. I prefer conversations based on intellegence. And to fight your assumptions, no I am not what you think I am because you do not know who I am. You need to evaluate based on how well you know the person first. You do not know who I am. All you know is that I am a Christian and immediatly I get the "ignorant/brainwashed" label.
I humbly concure with that, as so you said that I gave you a new outlook on life when I repled to that lil riddle in your signature. And if I did not say that I was Christian, you would have been civil, and maybe even considered me a friend. But as soon as I mention it, you dis me.
And yes, you are right in stating that I have "no self reliance" and are "needing/wanting outside help because you can't deal with the real world". Very very true. I don't have control over the weather or what time I'm going to die. I cant deal with heavy burdens in life, like relationships or love. So I trust in God and ask Him to help me. I'm sure you have the same problems in your life as well.

If you died today, where would you go is a great question!!!!
YOUR problem is that you are satisfied with an absurd, prefabricated tired answer.
Don't waste such a great question!!! You only got so much enquiring spirit, use it!

Absurd, tired, prefabricated answer? According to the thousands and thousands of people that encounter death every year and come back from it, that answer isn't exactly "absurd". In fact it is reality. I'm curious to see how you back up that statement?
Haha, well if we are going to comment on signatures thats cool. As for yours, things don't stay the same, they get worse over time. Kinda like rapid decline, or de-evolution. Moral decay, biological decay, psychological decay and other such things that have been tested to be true over time. Interesting reasearch no one seems to pursue. Ah well. \m/

According to a few people who have had a near death experience, which is what I think you are referring to, they see what ever they see...
Does that matter? How do you verify what they see? How do you know it is not just a shared psychological phenomenon?
How do you verify what you find in your bible? You trust a book just because others do too? How low CAN you get? At least keep this utter shame to yourself then!
And about better and worse: I'm not really sure what good and bad is anymore(PLEASE, don't tell me to look it up in the BOOK).
I know often what I prefer, but does that make it good? I often know what I dislike, does that make it bad?
The quote is by Terry Pratchett and supposed to be a joke.
Yes, there is devolution, just as there is evolution, and whether entropy in the universe as a whole is on the rise or not is something cosmologists still argue about.
Our opinions often mirror our state of mind, so if you feel that everything falls apart, maybe make friends with that part of you that tells you so and ask it what its message is.
Cheers

You would veryify what a person saw in the situation of a NDE by observing the physical state of the body. If there is still oxygen going to the brain then yes maybe they might be hallucinating or dreaming. But what I am relating to you is that there are people who are clinicaly dead, no oxygen to the brain, nothing - and they come back from death and relate what they saw. Their testamony would be evidence and their state at death would be evidence.
It is not a shared, common phenomenon because this has been going on for years in different places at different times and people see different things. Either a heavenly place or a hellish nightmare. You can look it up yourself if your interested in their accounts.
Anywho, I trust the Bible because it is 100% reliable. ie. no contradictions, it is historical, it lines up to the facts of life that we observe today under much scruitiny, mind you. And it (the God of the Bible) changes lives everyday, there is no other book in the world like the Bible. It is the most accurate document we posess. I trust it because I've studied it and read from it and assesed the evidence myself.
I am not brainwashed, if thats what your trying to get at. And I am not "low", insulting other people's intellegence based on assumptions is indeed extremly ignorant and I ask that you please do not continue to undermine me in the future, thank you.
As for what you think right and wrong is: how do we know what is right and wrong? Majority opinion? Our own wants and desires? ie. "what I like at this time is what is right and what I don't like is what is wrong." Neither of those work because they are constantly changing and what we can gather from right/wrong is that they are indeed absolute, not relative. [link] So who has the authority to conclude what is right or wrong? Our government? They have trouble following their own laws, so no. The most logical conclution would be one who knows everything to give that direction of right/wrong: God. If you can come up with a better, more plausable explaination I'd love to hear it.
As for cosmologists arguing, well, thats inevitable, we're always going to be arguing and debating. Most people shut out the world too quickly and find that they don't learn anything. But I try to listen to both sides fairly, which is hard because I am indeed bias, and so are you. I try to question the logic behind everything to see which answer matches up with what we observe and I have come to the conclution that the God of the Bible is indeed true.
Anywho, what do you believe? I'm interested in hearing your side, if you don't mind.
Merry Christmas
-Stefanie
