# About me
Hello, and welcome to my little corner of dA! I'm a multidisciplinary artist with talents in drawing lineart, coloring, writing stories and poetry, culinary art, photography, and craftwork. Currently I'm working on completing my first novel - please visit my Patreon page at the link below. :3I've been a member of dA for over a decade, and over the years I've posted, cringed, whined, deleted, waffled, and sometimes reposted a LOT of creative work. Admittedly, my confidence in the quality and creativity of my work has been a serious problem for me, which is why I really don't post much. That, and I have a pretty rational fear of my best work being "borrowed" so someone else can make money off of it without asking me.
Anyway, over the years I've come to realize that art isn't a competition, and that I don't have to be "as good" as anyone else on dA. So now I just share things that I'm proud of creating, and I know some of you will probably enjoy it.

Well some of the posts on our blog are from me and my roommate, but most of the stuff on there is just cool stuff we find. We're really working hard on posting more original recipes and photos!

Yeah, that "Birdies" one is my favorite (tied with "Kitty's Room", now) of all of those. Believe it or not that was that artist's freshman SE theme effort.
But I'm sure you did get a pretty darn good idea of what I'm into by checking that out.

Minus the Hello Kitty. I'm a fan, but that one was pretty darn girly.
And bright colors in and of themselves are not girly. Maybe it's just your presentation. Your "Lilac Leaves" was nice and subtle, but when you present your new theme it's always on a black or dark background with a black phone. Give or take a few.

And you are right, of course. It's possible to use bright colors
without turning all girly. I've perhaps stuck too long with
my current presentation. I guess it could do with an overhaul.

Really, you can do "bright" colors without emmasculating yourself. It's all in the complementary colors: black is a great complement to everything, but so are all the greys and browns, as well as "metallic" tones. Just as a for instance, pink and brown look amazing together; I've been saying this since before combining pink & brown became trendy.
I've found that a great inspiration for color combos can be found by checking out the "textures" on dA, actually. I use it to think of color combinations when I'm thinking of stuff to crochet that doesn't look like Grandma made it.
