Let me get this straight... You come to DeviantART to criticize "bad" artwork (which is COMPLETELY subjective, nitwit) yet your journal claims that you "love the community here at deviant art" and "are interested in developing closer relationships with you"...

Hmmm, who's the hypocrite here, exactly?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

thefoxysquirrel In reply to xthumbtakx [2013-01-03 16:50:19 +0000 UTC]

HA! Yes, I do love the community here... the community of people with taste!

Art is subjective to an extent. But if I were to have your naive perspective, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Mozart and Justin Bieber, Picasso and a 5 year old's doodle, BETWEEN A BLUE BLOB ON A COMPUTER SCREEN and a thoughtful and unique seascape. After all, as you said, art is COMPLETELY SUBJECTIVE, right? So Justin Bieber is comprable to Mozart. For that matter, Claude Debussy is no better than One Direction, etc. The list is endless.

It is a perspective like this that is the ENEMY of good art and tactful art critique. Your attitude is the equivalent of the moron who says "everyone is a winner!" No. This is not true. Some people win, some people lose. Some people are good artists, some people are not. Art is not completely subjective.

And for your information, I have begun to develop relationships with people whose art and tastes I truly respect. I apologize that I am not able to relate to immature clunk heads such as yourself. I am very sorry. I happen to think it is rather easy to tell the dfference between Debussy and Bieber. On the other hand, for people such as yourself who seem to have difficulty with such elementary discernment, well... I feel bad for you. Good day to you!

Just a nicely meant advice from my side:

Your head= your land/country/empire
so you can think whatever you want.

The Internet= The place of everyone and you know, people who do whatever they want like you gonna be kicked out of a community very fast. (because they do not want to be in a community if they don't tolerate everyone)

At least i have to notice that you seem to have some standards but EVERYONE has.
You don't have to ACCEPT THEM (i don't like Picasso nor Justin Bieber) but RESPECT THEM (i won't spit anybody in his face just for liking Picasso/Justin Bieber)

You sound like: "Only the elite is allowed to exsist!"- does this phrase remind you of anybody?

At least YOUR mom taught you s o m e good manners. (Why the hell am I mentioning your Mom? Well, just in order to show you how out of topic it was in your last comment) Good day to you~!

Llama as the new sign of dA peace ? I rather like the concept. :3

thefoxysquirrel In reply to Aurasio [2012-12-28 10:15:34 +0000 UTC]

I used it rather effectively as a peace offering in the past 10 minutes. In fact, it has not been refused even by those I was most opposed to!

I do not recall being at odds with you however. My llama offering was one of friendship because from what I understood, we felt the same way. I was just more blunt with my delivery.

Aurasio In reply to thefoxysquirrel [2012-12-28 11:08:25 +0000 UTC]

Lol. That's a clever idea !

Nope, we weren't at odds. In fact, while I was feeling baffled going through flurries of comments whose only purpose was to support the author and say how much the poem could be related to, yours was the only comment that gave me a sense of relief.

It was like, 'Faith in humanity : Restored. '

shock value + bratty teenagers = mucho views.

I don't despair all that much now that I think about it. DA is like any community, in that it has various segments. A large segment of DA, especially those who actually read the poetry here (which is mostly atrocious from a literary standpoint), are bratty teenagers. And DA itself attracts a disproportionate amount of artsy self absorbed bratty teenages, as well as artsy self absorbed people in general. That's the nature of an art site and the nature of many artists.

remember, there are many many people here who are genuine, thoughtful, sincere art lovers as well.

This is more to myself than to you lol

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aurasio In reply to thefoxysquirrel [2012-12-28 12:38:13 +0000 UTC]

Lmao. 'Artsy self-absorbed bratty teenagers'. Well-put.

And I'm sure some people were confused as to whether it's a satire or a truly as juvenile as it seems. Lol.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

thefoxysquirrel In reply to Aurasio [2012-12-28 12:46:58 +0000 UTC]

maybe, but not all of the people who said "i understand cus i feel the same way..."

what the hell! really? lol

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aurasio In reply to thefoxysquirrel [2012-12-28 13:05:07 +0000 UTC]

Ugh, people "feeling the same way" doesn't make it art, it just makes it teenage angst.

Lol.

And yeah, some people actually thought it was a satire for the Connecticut shootings.
