Aw, that's annoying.

We're having a little stressful time here, too, these days, but for good reasons. There's so many birthdays in this month. My brother's girlfriend's mother's and his girlfriend's own are already done. But next up's my mother's, a big round anniversary with lots of guests from all over the country/families and friends, this Thursday, and there's a whole lot of stuff to do when they all come. And then's my grandma's around the end of the month, but its celebration's going to get postponed until somewhere in April now, as "her" siblings and relatives seemingly can't all come on even a single same day until then. So Mom's pretty much running all places every day to get all together for "both" parties and prepare all stuff, and then we're having one big meal and festivity after the other with no end in sight. 

I for one could definitely do with some "pause" now and then in between. But ah, well, most of those guys we're seeing way too rarely anyways, and they aren't exactly the youngest anymore either. Definitely can't hurt seeing them again once more all together, while we're all still well and alive.

Yeah I feel ya.
Theres been 3 this past month and then theres my dads, younger sister and brothers coming up this month too .
And having a big family means a big party.
It's so tiring, ESPECIALLY for an introvert.....

And theres this aunt in my family that just absolutely exhausts me because shes so negative and thinks shes better than everyone else....
She has to have everyones attention b4 she ends up bullying someone via social media ...
So anymore I try to avoid get togethers.

I remember one year she ended up lying to my cousin, her daughter about me...
And we were close friends...
Saying she "didnt want me around her because I'm a whore and probably get too wild with the guys"

for FUCK sake I never even been with any other guy than Brandon and I dont even get out much! I'm introverted so I rarely even socialize with anyone, let alone men in the area....

It ended up breaking my relation off with my cousin because of it, but the irony here is her daughter ended up with 2 kids before she even hit 18 and she doesnt even know who the father is.



Here hoping though, your get together is fun and less stressful than mine are xD I choose to be non social because I feel happier and less stressed but I do tend to buy gifts and call my family members who's birthday are upcoming.

Little sad this year because my little sister is joining the navy and ...I just dont approve... I have told her that but I worry because God knows what will happen....

Aw, man, some people... Guess I can consider myself lucky there isn't something comparable in my family tree so far.

The more distant (spacial) relatives do have their own fights, for example we heard of one nephew of my grandma having been brought to court by his siblings, because he was taking care of their mother (one sister of my grandma) for dozens of years on his own alone and now just can't afford it alone anymore, with all the mental health issues she's got and the constant watching and care she needs, so finally brought her into a retirement home. Then, a few "weeks" later, his sister accidentally found out her mother from 2 floors above her (yes, "all" her children are living in the exact same house together) was gone, investigated and called the others in to fight him for it. None of them ever cared to as much as take a look at her for all those years, the one brother had to do it all alone the entire time, and now, when it's finally become more than he technically can muster alone anymore, "he's" the bad guy for bringing her to a retirement home? I somehow think I know whose side I'd be on, if I had to be on anybody's.

But they're so far away and contact has become so scarce, even between them and my grandma, their eldest sister/aunt/great aunt, all of their petty sibling fighting and drama doesn't even reach us. And no, they mostly don't even call at birthdays either. We do sometimes, but we've yet to get a call back. Ah, well, but that's family to you. You only have the one. Good and bad, all included.

Hmm, yeah, nowadays you don't know what all might happen. We may be living in relatively calm and peaceful days, no big wars (the west is taking part in) or anything, but there's still those civil wars and terrorist fights, and some of our neighbors or partners don't seem to be too keen on keeping the peace as well, as we found out. Oh, well, but "joining the Navy" doesn't automatically mean "going to war". Though with this president, who knows? Here's hoping nothing bad will happen, and my best wishes to her safety!

Well, I guess that's also one way of putting it to good use. I, too, was disappointed at first that I wasted the holidays by only sleeping in long and then just relaxing before the TV the whole day, but looking back at it now it was likely the best thing I could've done and doing wonders to my inner peace. If you're having lots of stress every day, getting one whole day to just sleep it out can really be like a godsend to you as well. The only thing that matters in the end is that it was a pleasant and mostly stress-free day.

Agreed.
Sometimes a day to just rest does wonders.
Mom wasn't stressing me and I got quiet a bit of family and friend calls I normally don't hear from so that made me happy. Honestly enjoyed the day to myself ^_^ it also helped me think up some new ideas for later work in my book so it paid off in the end
