My fingers are crossed that I can get my book self published this year. I did all the art I think I could do, I sent the book to someone to edit it, I tweaked the book cover a bit, and etc. Maybe next week I'll into publishing websites.
Other than that, I've been trying to get caught up with a few requested things before I can start student teaching. One of which is to teach a lesson for a high school class (I was supposed to do two- long story.) I'm to teach on how to create a cartoon character and the research has been pretty fun. :) (Smile) I'm trying to use a variety of images of different cartoon characters, though most of them have been human. I want to make sure that their designs vary, and I told myself NOT to use any characters from Frozen because of how overrated it's been, and I think the students need to have different characters to look at. (The human character images I'm using include the main four characters from Steven Universe and Yzma and Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove because they have unique body types required for the lesson. I've also included Invader Zim, Simba, and Spongebob Squarepants, though the latter is used to see if the students could interpret what kind of character he is by his design.)
Not much else interesting, unfortunately. At least that I can think of.

What you just shared with me regarding cartoon character creation is fascinating.

It is a wise choice to avoid Frozen all together, as you pointed out, the film itself is highly overrated, and the character designs are less than unique, dynamic, or readily expressive.
Your choices from Steven Universe, Yzma and Cronk, and others like Zim are excellently diverse and have certain qualities ideal for learning about to create a memorable cartoon character.

Ah, there was some… issues on my side. I was unable to pass something really important and if I try to student teach in the spring or summer, it won't work in my favor because of the next time I can get results for the re-take. My best course of action now is to wait until fall to officially start student teaching, but I will still be teaching the cartoon lesson since it's required.
In the meantime, I need to seek out a job for between now and fall 2016.

Well, the book that's... technically finished is an adventure/fantasy tale... it's kind of like 'average person gets pulled into another world'
story- only that's exactly what they want. (She's got a short comic in my gallery)
The other- which I've done a painting and a sketch from (and also found here) is about a multi-talented young woman who finds herself in a world of automatons and has a chance at gaining a touch of immortality. This one is still going under revisions- I'm thinking of re-writting the intro to that one. I want it to feel realistic in terms of how the characters would act, and not have any negative messages that the intro seems to have.
