The "Rozalin's Wedding","GG Fight", and "Bridget and May" deviations she had were traces. Technically, that's more than one.
But I can agree with you when you say that the rest of her gallery (besides what I've listed) isn't traced. I agree because it was mostly photoshop edits and copy-and-paste work.

I'm sure you've seen this in her gallery. Notice how Bridget looks nearly the same as in this image from his ending in whichever Guilty Gear it's from.
Disregarding the faces in this drawing she did, it also looks the same as this wallpaper (even though the wallpaper has been scaled down to fit a computer screen).

Okay, if I can't get my point across by merely showing you her work, then allow me to ask this question.
Before the humongous raid on her began, there was a comment left on her front page calling out her Guilty Gear Fight deviation as a trace. It was not rude or nasty, but merely asked if it was a trace or not. When she saw it, she hid the comment so no one could see it.
My question to you is this: Why would she hide the comment rather than reply to it and defend herself?

its her way of dealing her problem? she doesnt have to make it public. it may seem suspicious but its no where near enough to make it an accurate accusation claiming she trace. just howed you find this page anyway? someone put up a link listing tracers or something?

So you're saying that a link to the original art doesn't have to be anywhere near her page or deviations?
Oh, and I'm sure someone did put up a link listing tracers, but that's not how I found you.

"So you're saying that a link to the original art doesn't have to be anywhere near her page or deviations? "
what? i'm assuming your saying she hides the comments because someone put up a link to the orginal art?
like i said its her way of dealing with other people's comments. tons of deviant artist do copy righted work and provide no link to orginal art. they should've mentioend where they copied the work from, however its not a "must do". tons of artist make fan art.well fanart has been accepted by the community, so one more copy cat shouldnt be a problem. often time artist that copyies are accused of tracing epsiecally those ones that did not mention the orginal piece from w/e
from what i was told, someone did put up a link of tracers.

"I'm assuming you're saying she hides the comments because someone put up a link to the original art?"
You might have hit the nail right on the head with that. Knowing her, that very well could be the case since she gets Ann Coulter syndrome when people realize that most of her art isn't original. I've witnessed it multiple times.
"Like I said it's her way of dealing with other people's comments."
And isn't that the spark that started this fire?
"Tons of deviant artist do copy righted work and provide no link to original art."
It's too bad that's not a bannable offense in this hugbox. If it was, I wouldn't be ashamed to be here half the time.
"They should have mentioned where they copied the work from, however its not a "must do"."
Right, because avoiding copyright infringement shouldn't be a priority.
"Tons of artist make fan art."
Too bad they can't stay on Fanart Central.
"Well, fan art has been accepted by the community, so one more copy cat shouldn't be a problem."
Protip: Ripping people off =/= fanart. We just went over how she "drew" her Guilty Gear image without giving credit.
"Often time artists that copy are accused of tracing, especially those ones that did not mention the original piece from whatever."
Either that or stealing. Whichever the raiding party feels suitable to use.
"From what i was told, someone did put up a link of tracers."
And I'm sure if you look hard enough, you'll find Joanna's account on one of those lists.
Also, I fixed your spelling and grammatical errors. Thank me later.

Actually, disregard what I said. This is how it really happened.
A long time ago, she stumbled upon a journal entry written by someone who was discussing the Orphaned Works bill or whatever the proposition was. After reading about it, she realized how her unrealistic dream of being an anime artist would be out of her reach if the bill passed. Meanwhile on the other side of the internet, someone found out about this and took a look at her gallery and, lo and behold, found this in her gallery .
After seeing this, stumbling upon the original and realizing that credit was not given, they were not pleased. After a while, someone made that very remark on her page that asked if she copied that one work from someone else. After seeing this, Joanna most likely got frustrated and hid the comment. Her reasons may be for whatever she intended, but that did not stop the rest of the group from confronting her.
After a short while, she knew that she could not hide all the comments, so she decided to request an account closure. If you were to go to her page, you would see that the account still hasn't closed. This could lead to the conclusion that she only said the account closure would come because she wanted them to get off her back. I assume that's the case because it shouldn't take this damn long to close an account. In all honesty, I don't think the mods are that incompetent. Anyways, once the heat died down after a while and all seemed calm, she decided to put up a journal saying how she would resubmit all of her work. Moments later, she began resubmitting work. Not too long after, the second wave hit.
This time it was more fierce and unforgiving. This time they made sure she would give up and not decide to sneak back on. After a while, she put up a journal saying how the group could spam all they wanted. She went into detail about how they have no lives which would have better described her rather than them. After only minutes, she finally caved in. She put up another journal saying how they won. After giving up, she finally admitted what the group wanted to hear. She finally admitted she traced/copied the work. Unfortunately, the comment that she wrote where she admitted her secret was in the very journal she deleted when she took down the rest of her work.
Also, I must ask you. Did you even bother reading the definition of fanart that you supplied me with? Let me show you what I mean.
The type of fan art which is deemed acceptable for submission are those work in which the submitting artist has done 100% of the work.
Tell me, which of the deviations I told you about would qualify as 100% original? Please, tell me. I'm curious as to what your answer would be.
But before you tell me your answer, take a look at one particular quote from deviantART's Copyright Policy and what would qualify as infringement of said policy.
Modifying or editing a creative work without proper permission.
And since you are eager for me to provide with solid evidence and a witness, I'm one of many witnesses that won't bother to deny this crap just to kiss her ass, and you just gave me some pretty decent evidence with your little "NO MATTER HOW MUCH SHE TRACED HOW MUCH SHE COPIED" banter along with the comment she made actually. That exact line, actually.

1 i dont care how it happened-its idiotic how people behaved.
2 i dont need you to tell me how she make her work and what she is, i've know her longer then you.
3 u obviously did not read the link i provided u or u misinterpreted and countered something that does not apply to the meaning of fanart. what part of "fanart is not orginal" u do not get and what part of no single artist can be called 100% did the work and fanart is acceptable in DA u do not get? and just which link u provided are acutally not qualify because she did not mention orginal artist when its in the category "fanart"?(the link i brought states that it will increase risk for not crediting meaning not auto, not 100% unacceable, not banable with out consideration), and did any of admin remove those image? more like she did it her self.
4 u have no clue to what anime artist are. do u not know that more then half of those anime artist are payed to copy another's work and that is what animators do. some are solo workers selling their creative work on the street and hope to attract some attension, some artist copy/design characters with a list of discripition for collab works. with you thinking all artist must be orginal is BS. tell it to those impressionist and i would be amazed that u do not recieve a smack on the head.
5 should say these crap to her instead of finding one of my friend's comment to reply to.

1. You're right. It's stupid how people think they can trace art and get away with it.
2. I don't know whether to be offended or feel bad for you since you claim to have known her longer.
3. Oh god, is that even English?
4. I'm not telling people what to do. I just think it would be better for an artist here to come up with their own design, art style, characters, ideas and whatnot rather than doing the same fucking thing everyone else is doing (Anime). And anyone that would be so outraged to go and hit someone for being told to be original obviously needed to be told to be original. Of course, you can't depend on people that adore the artists to tell such a thing. They're too busy kissing the artist's ass.
5. What makes you think I haven't done that yet?

Right now, the problem is the people that stand by tracers and defend them when they're under attack.

and because shes a tracer that u so claim, then its ok to spam? what the hell is so disturbing to you about defending a friend knowing she doesnt have to be so ORGINAL which u care so much about? its not like i support tracing, u just cant stand others defending someone u dont like, well too bad theres no pollicy against that. appearently, she left , removed her work isnt enough for you.

wwwdots In reply to Out-Of-Ammo [2008-08-01 11:52:48 +0000 UTC]
ok you told her so what is the problem then? she left with her work problem should be solved?
telling what people should do is practically same as telling what people to do. and when people refuse to take the command, this happens. this the daily spam IS the problem.

"Right, because avoiding copyright infringement shouldn't be a priority."
90% of the copied work were sent to the FANART section in DA categories. the artist is stating that it is a fanart, and to let people know it is a copied, reproduced work by another which just give the viewers some hunting to do if they are interested in seeing the orginal peice.
"Like I said it's her way of dealing with other people's comments."
"And isn't that the spark that started this fire?"
no it started with listed of all the fanart artist who makes a big deal out of it, and writing an article to sent thousands of people hunting fan artist, how else you think large amount of people find her? any sort of rebellion from an artist is useless and often cause more problem. i'm sure u made it here from some sort of link, may not be from that specific link with all the artist, but definitly from another page, journal. if she wants to hide the comment due to much negativity on her , or perhaps does not want more people to be involved, thats her choice. its not a reason to accuse her. unless you have a solid evidence, or your a witness.
NO MATTER HOW MUCH SHE TRACED HOW MUCH SHE COPIED, IT DOESNT GIVE ANYONE THE RIGHT TO STICK TO HER LIKE A GLUE HARASSING/SPAMING HER.
as for lack of orginality, thats the whole point of FANART.
here read the definition of fanart provided by DA
