Most of the work is done in 3DS MAX (9) to produce a shot of the ship or station. Then the backgrounds, lense flares, and some lighting effects are added using Photoshop (CS2) because I'm not good enough to do those things in MAX

Like Sean, I'm curious about what program(s) you're using to create your artwork. This will show you how little I know about the wild and wacky world of RPG graphics -- but do you create the original 3D renderings and then "paint" them and the backgrounds in Photoshop or similar raster-based program, or are these not 3D at all, but rather vector-based composites?

Regardless, it's very impressive... I wish you worked for NASA -- they could use a bit more creativity and vision in their "artistic conceptualization of future space travel".

Would also interest which way you prefer. Everything in 3D or a combination of both ways. Becaus I try to experiment with both.
