Another sketchbook assignment for art class. We had to draw a hand in 30-60 minutes, using interesting value and all that jazz.

Well, I hate using a model because they always tick me off by moving. And then I threaten to kill them. That scares people, I'm sure, so who better to use but myself?! So, those are BOTH my hands. And let me tell you: it's difficult to draw a right hand when one IS right-handed!!!! I had to commit it to memory and just go with it for the most part, because I got annoyed with looking back and forth, putting the charcoal pencil down, picking it back up....and I felt sick all evening so I got angry.

I was going to draw something profound and neat, but I got bored and just left it. I didn't mean to go offpage, but eh. Nothing I can do about it. I was GOING to make it a bit perspectivey and make it look like someone raising their hand for school, with a teacher in the distance. Then I was going to do a high five between two people. It ended up looking like someone begging to Heaven. Maybe for mercy? I was ALSO going to draw someone's face in, to the right. I wanted to do an African looking face; I thought that would be a neat touch. But decided I was bored. And...quit!

I think I'm starting to like my little charcoal development of shading. For the grayish parts, I just run a white charcoal heavily over the black. I think it's a nice effect. I haven't seen anyone else use the charcoals like that, so I kinda feel......strangely proud.

I also got charcoal all over the printer/scanner. HAHAHA!

Started in pencil, developed/finished in black and white General's Charcoal pencils. Yey.
