A very very very long overdue commission for ...I'm terribly sorry for this
I actually started in June and never got around to finishing it. Drawing those feathers and wings are a blast. I think I made its head look weird and some of the colours are a bit dirty but then it's what I can do with colour pencils.Β Species c queenofeagles

Beautiful colouring Azca!
I just have a question though, do the colours dirty out of themselves or is it maybe the kind of paper you are using?
I must say I like that colourful tail too ^-^

Do you touch the paper with your fingers Azca? The oils in your fingers can cause tiny stains too.
If you use graphite to get dull colours, try combining two opposite colours from colour pencils instead to form a blend. When combining such opposite colours you get a less saturated colour. I use the same mixing technique with watercolours to get more neutral colours. It takes some practice to blend it well with pencils though
I don't know what would cause the dirty colours, did you use graphite before or after using the coloured pencils? If you used graphite afterwards then there is a chance that movement of the paper will cause the graphite to tumble around ;-;
