I was just doodling and this came out, I don't know
Note: In my headcanon Ditzy and Derpy is one and the same with "Ditzy" being the real name and "Derpy" being something like a nickname for when she's doing something silly or funny. In this picture she's younger and is just a generaly happy pony, so I thought "Ditzy" would be appropriate.

I am in great favor of her name being in fact "Muffin," as she was credited in Episode 100.Β Ditzy and Derpy could both be nicknames.

Lauren Faust and the writer of the Last Roundup both wanted to call her Ditzy. The latter was told to change her to Derpy at the last minute.
Though really, Derpy is still a background pony at heart, and no one interpretation is wrong, per se.

Sure, Ditzy was first, but it was the Violet hair version (As seen in winter wrap up) , not the one drawn here, this is Derpy.

That was never confirmed to be Ditzy; Twilight could have reorganized the bird migration team OR Maybe derpy/ditzy simply dyed her mane, after all, the purple-haired mares coat, eyes, and cutie-mark are the same as our beloved mailmare.
Personally, I don't put much stock into background ponies, as the animators don't seem to over-think their use (eg. the constant cloning in crowd scenes in the early episodes)
I'm rambling at this point, I simply want to say that fanon is simply one persons personal view, and to tell them it's wrong is a bit presumptuous.
But that's just one ponies opinion...

Ditzy Doo was the original name given to her before everyone officially adopted Derpy as her name...

In order to know for sure what's the character's name, you have to see her and hear her being named at the same time, which happened only in Winter wrap Up with violet haired Ditzy, and in The Last Roundup with blonde haired Derpy

They never named any of the pegasi in Winter Wrap Up to be Ditzy, they just said Ditzy went north instead of south to get the birds, after which point we never saw the Derpy Look-Alike again like we did at the beginning during the singing: [link] . If you mean the one at the very end that comes with the birds, no one named her Ditzy and I'm pretty sure Ditzy wouldn't have come back from the north within the few hours that passed since she left. Makes more sense that they made a second flight group to get the birds while Ditzy was on the wrong voyage.
Ditzy and Derpy are the same pony but Ditzy was the name originally given to her.

Well yes, they said that 'Ditzy went north instead of south to get the birds' and the towards the end of an episode we see her guiding the birds back, that seems pretty conclusive to me, it's not going to get any more obvious.

It gets as obvious as Lauren Faust actually stating what the original name was for Derpy and the fact no one said the purple-maned one was Ditzy, since Ditzy never got the birds because she went the wrong way!
