For my friend’s birthday, A Noldorin healer.
What is a healer?
A healer is someone who commits herself to helping. She dedicates years of her life to gaining the specialized knowledge necessary to cure the ills and alleviate the suffering of others; she dedicates a lifetime to cultivating the mental fortitude, and the gentleness, necessary to do this well. She risks herself. People do not always appreciate her work as much as they should, because it is easy to forget the healer when oneself and one’s loved ones are healthy. But when there is a battle, or a plague, and the healer is called upon to toil and toil and do her work without rest or respite, without her, all would be lost. The healers are necessary, and they are courageous, and they deserve better - in times of peace as in times of suffering.
