Not quite a weapon or a talisman of kick anyone's ass, but great model of it!
The only one as good as this that I've ever seen was from Che Broadnax

This is really well designed in terms of shaping, shading, lighting, rendering, and execution. Great job.

Whats on the inside? The blue thing? Geometry and lighting wise. I would love to be able to do stuff like that in Max.............
Awesome material and project by the way!!

add a sphere and increase the Segment count around 60 to 80 . press C to edit . change to Polygon Tool . select all . right click object . choose "Set Point Value" . set "All" to "Crumple (Axial)" . set XYZ's to something like 5 or 8 . it depends on your Segment count and how smooth/crumpled you want it to look . switch to Model Tool and Scale Tool to resize as needed
i used 3 of these crumpled spheres to make this core . 3 different materials . the outside 2 were transparent blues and the center sphere was a transparent mirror . one Visible Volumetric white light inside . the outside sphere material had Glow and was slightly lighter and had less diffusion than the other blue core below it

OH thank you!
I am not sure if 3DSmax has a "crumple" modifier but I will look. I would not have thought to use a mirror material on one of them for added reflectivity.
Very helpful! Thank you!
